Wait, I'm confused. So, you want the community to make more money, but also take more money out of the economy?????

Just to take money out of the economy so that mesos become worth more. Example: When i joined, White scrolls were around 180m, now they are 260+. With no money sinks the economy just keeps gaining money and mesos loose their value. With these money sinks the economy will lose mesos. Results would bring prices down or keep them steady vs. them having a constant rise with no sinks.

Hopefully that helped explain it a bit....

We're still above all a nostalgic server. Karma scissors don't do anything besides go against that. The server is "down" on population slightly since the summer (we were averaging ~300 then, we're in the mid 200's now)

I agree though that I wouldn't want things to become too "easy" by having every important atk pot and scroll available in the FM.

We could increase the price of high tier healing potion (i.e NLC ginger ales, etc).
The price of the actual potions were made according to the old mesos + drop rates.
Rates being increassed in royal, maybe potions should be a little more expensive.
I was thinking about that because potion shop are already a sink so maybe we dont need to add some fency fm shop to help our economy. Discuss i might be totaly wrong

It makes sense, because a lot of the meso income comes from selling equips gained from grinding, and a lot of that income is from 4th job magicians, who burn pots like crazy. On GMS pot cost used to be quite significant, especially before nlc rolled around. When mana bulls are more cost efficient than regular pots with 2.5k mp, you know something's out of whack.

A bulk of the methods that I posted don't involve mesos coming into the game. Most of the mesos that you get from those methods require players transaction and now with the tax in place, it should do more good than harm.
That's pretty much what I'm aiming towards.
Which is why I removed it from the potential ideas. I put it down and suggested it as a very hyper aggressive method to solve the problem.

    Another stupid idea but
Remember the cake boss from the anniversary event?
Just make something like that, except replace turning in slices of cake with mesos
Maybe like, every 300m turned in, a big boss with an unhealthy amount of HP comes in and, once defeated, drops Christmas box type items that can be turned in to the Maple Admin NPC for a prize?

I really think this thread needs a bump.
Raising merchant fees would be a good step and not a very game changing, increase it by double at least and fast!

In order for mesos to disappear in this game, people need to be spending. Instead of saving and hoarding mesos for a rainy day, people need to spend them.

An idea that could be tried and tested for a little bit to see what results are yielded could be allowing untradeable NX items (clothing, facial expressions, transformation, etc [NOT gachapon]) that could be bought with mesos at a fair exchange rate (I believe the current exchange rate from mesos to NX is 3m mesos = 1k NX).

What if this was tried for a month or so to see if the amount of mesos in the server would have decreased?

As long as this doesn't discourage people from voting everyday, I'm down for this solution.

People are going to continue to vote for their gach, charms, rocks, and resets. Clothes are a very small amount of the NX spent here.

I know the idea of increasing pots has been thrown out there, but what about increasing taxi/boat rides per job.
ie, as a beginner, it costs 10% to travel. What if 2nd job was 1000%, 3rd 10,000% etc, something along those lines. Same could be said for nearest town scrolls, etc, other items that are used repetitively and make life easier.

xxxx- after further thought, the items could easily be circumvented by using a lower leveled mule...this economy though.

As a new player to this server I was alarmed by how bias the players were when it came to who had mesos and those who didn't. It really bothers me, but encourages me to vote and gain power/mesos. There is way too much inflation from the week or so that I've been playing. I agree with Plenty that we should do something about this rising issue!

We need more shadowers. I've made 15.8b disappear in my time here... Meso sink right there!

I really like the idea of AP resets still. Take mesos out of circulation and add goods via gach at the same time double win.

With mushie being taken out of business it seems prices are slowly deflating again. Maybe no new major meso sinks is needed at the time being.

I feel like that AP resets would take out a heck of a lot more meso out of the economy that previous meso sink ideas would, so we'd see mass deflation when tons of people (such as myself) go buy resets instead of buying them from players. Maybe tele rocks for 2m could be considered though, as they're used on a much smaller scale.

I don't know, it's hard to say. Maybe prices are deflating because more gachapon'able equips are being blasted into the economy with the addition of Red Envelopes. Or maybe because mushie has been taken out of business, mesos is being worth more and more and therefore prices are deflating. With an event like this, there is no way to tell.
