He meant that not everything has to be done to help the player, "for" the player. Some challenge makes it more fun. And I agree. Yeah, I already did that quest, but it only gives you 5 scrolls. I'm the first that wants some challenge and difficulty. That's why I chose this server instead of one with higher rates. And I really like the event because it's kinda hard to complete, unlike the facerolling events in GMS, so please keep up with the good work. But having to walk my way back to Henesys every time for at least 10 times is not a challenge, it's just a waste of time. Putting the NPC in the FM won't give me any advantage other than saving time, and according to the people replying in this thread it wont save me that much time so that's another reason why consider it. If you don't want to move it that's the ultimate reason and i'm fine with that, I just wanted to suggest it.
Yeah, okay, but going back from Henesys to DM is more time consuming. And even if it's not too much more, it's still annoying having to go back and forth. You guys seriously don't see my point?
I see your point completely. I could also argue that to save you time from grinding on pie monsters, we should have one pie monster drop all the ingredients you need too. But again, there's both a challenge and time sink that exists where you have to fight multiple pie monsters.
Just wanna quickly add something. While it seems that this servers' community is becoming more competitive-focused, super ultra :yeahboi: get this done style, one of the greatest things about Maplestory before all the transportation updates came in was the immersion of Maple World. I feel like this server does a nice job of keeping this (although having all the holiday NPCs out year-round is odd), and placing NPCs which come with events would ruin this immersion. Once you start moving characters' around for ease of gameplay, those characters become artificial and lame. While slightly limited, the game has an insane amount of dialogue, giving each character unique personalities and expressions in it, despite how short or long. Servers that have a ton of NPCs shoved into FM, or any place they aren't naturally in, end up becoming solely gameplay focuses and lose their uniquity. One thing I love about MapleRoyals is that most of, if not all the custom content is limited. Generally, a ton of the changes are things you'd see in the official server. For example, Doofus (i forgot his name lol), the custom Pet NPC on Maple Island, has quirky dialogue, well-balanced tasks and good rewards for that. He doesn't seem artificial at all, and if I didn't know any better, I would think that he was an official NPC in old Maplestory. tbh I don't even know if the frederick or the storage dude existed in the old maplestory versions. if that's the case, you should be grateful that they're even included lol
By this logic, the fm trade button & storage npc in the fm are breaking your game by making it substantially easier not complaining, but the logic doesn't seem to align. I think that the Grandma Benson npc in the fm would encourage more participation in the event, and isn't that what we all want ? If not, why even release an event if participation isn't heavily pushed ? I know that I haven't been doing the quest on my hero at all because I try not to leave Road to Oblivion in Temple of Time besides gaching and npcing & repotting. I would gladly do the quest if there was an fm npc though ! For sure
