    yeah, great idea, infinite leps maps, more mesos in the economy, higher prices of ap resets, ws and cs so everyone without mules can't compete, you remember when cs were 570m and ap resets were 17m? fun times

    You are right, I didn't think that far ahead, the thought of that happening would be scary. Though the part about people without mules not being able to compete, it kinda is already happening (which is the point of this thread) and is something I hope can be kept under control.

    I farm leps at creeping evil time to time. I do see the "runts" and various other noticeable mules. The other day, I hopped from 1-19 and all was taken. I got lucky with ch20.

    I only ask that these people are regularly checked for botting since some, in my opinion, do look sketch.

    On a side note, selling a fk ton of lucky charms x.x

    No, it was a somewhat serious suggestion, though I did not think about it messing up the economy. But to be honest, I still kinda feel like what OP is mentioning isn't a real issue because they are talking about having issues finding maps to passively farm.

    I think that this can be solved with a change to the map owner system.

    1. Allow people to wait in maps for the person that is using them to leave or forfeit map ownership.

    Currently, if the map owner asks you to leave, I think you are forced to leave or you risk getting banned. Removing this punishment makes it so you can QUIETLY wait in a map for someone to finish and then take their map.

    I'm all for having the ban punishment still be available for people who are being rude or offensive, but if they are simply sitting in your map, nothing else, I feel like you should not be able to report them or ask them to leave.


    2. Change the map owner system so that it forms a "queue". I.e. the person who is currently map owner can retains map owner position, and then the second person in the map becomes the second person in the Queue . When the first person in the queue fails to hit a monster for 3mins, map owner shifts to the second person in the queue.

    So, this means that if the person who is multiclienting on 10+ summon farm mules doesn't recast before 3 minutes each and every time, map ownership can change, which can give you, the waiting player a chance to take map.

    Also, I don't think that parking an afk mule in someones map is too big of a time commitment since u are probably doing something else while that is happening. Simply just check back every now and then to see if u have map owner.

    If someone decided they wanted to make 7 afk farming mules then by God they deserve those 7 channels since they're so dedicated to no-life it that hard. Just go do something else until they give up.

    Surely they do deserve to play on their characters, otherwise it would be unfair to them. Apologies for sounding like i'm repeating myself. They should be rewarded for their efforts, but i'm suggesting that the amount of mules be regulated, at least in "popular spots" which at the top of my head is Voodoo/Lep/Lyka/etc. Perhaps 3? 5? It's up for debate.

    From most of the replies though, seems that it's not that frowned upon, or perhaps the problem isn't that big enough till someone makes so many mules that more people voice out. Assuming 1hour at lep is 20m (varies but you could hit 25+, excluding high stats equips), right now runt1-runt11 along with his other chars (about 2 from the same guild) -> using 13 maps -> 1 person making a killing of 260m/hour (at the expense of many others) and people spend more effort selling leech o_O I would rather this guy be rewarded for his effort but limited to e.g. 4 mules, make 80m/hour and allow 9 other people to earn 20m/hour.

    But yeah enough of me beating the dead horse, I have gotten the clarification that I need, and it would be great if discussions on a rule regarding this can be made one day (if it is deemed an actual problem). Wouldn't mind closing this thread but of course we can keep this open if people would like to discuss!

    multiclient it's mistake from the start
    for sure it's nice to hs yourself 2clients~ but people take it to far with farming
    i think it's kinda stupid and sux that is allowed to farm with so many clients with just summon/1click each min+-
    1person should get 1farming place
    maybe one day someone will make 40clients and take 2 best farming maps solo
    then just alt tab [summon click] alt tab [summon click]

    but it's private server afterall maybe that's the way it should go

    Surely these characters wouldn't even have existed in the first place if they didn't see the opportunity to use them properly in the first place(i.e. checking how crowded voodoo/leps maps are before making these chars). Even if they just blindly made these characters without doing some research beforehand, these maps are still obtained on a first-come first-served basis so I don't see any problem even if someone manages to hog all 20 channels at once without losing mapownership all while re-summoning and NPC-ing on all of them.

    Not sure if you can relate, but from my personal experience(not implying that I farmed on that many chars at the same time before) I think you are not giving this said person "runt1-runt11" enough credits here for running 13 farmers at once. Leps maps as far as I know rely solely on NPC money(especially now Flamekeeper cordons might have de-valued godly noels' worth in the market) and I'm assuming that this person won't be teleporting between NPC map and Creeping Evil back and forth so just by imagining the amount of concentration he would need to achieve your idealistic "260m/hr", I don't think I can even start to understand why would you think selling leech is any harder than doing what he is doing because personally I find selling leech relatively straightforward.

    But this is just my opinion, please don't say it sux senpai :D

    Yeah it's just my view that more people utilizing the maps is more beneficial for the server as a whole than just 1 person hogging most of the maps, but if first-come-first-served is more valued here I would respect that :3

    The difficulty is relative and perhaps taxing in a different way than selling leech but if he uses a normal teleport rock (the opposite of your assumption) the burden of multiclienting is significantly reduced. Actually I do use normal rock nowadays simply because i'm lazy but even so I actually earn more than what I would have spending 1 hour at voodoos, so I guess it's up to him whether he's hardcore enough to walk back and forth to npc his items on like..13+ characters~

    Just posting this table for reference. I know that the reality of some of these things isn't as simple as what the table shows.
    Mapowner currently works by converting maps from common-pool resources (available to all, but finite number of said resource) to private goods (finite and exclusive) by giving characters exclusive rights to a map. I think it's important to get past the idea that maps are some sort of public good.

    An article about parking spaces are really more like private goods rather than public goods. I think some good comparisons can be made through this real life example, though there are some key differences: https://www.reinventingparking.org/2012/01/rethinking-of-what-parking-is-in-first.html

    Anyways, what I want to get at is maybe tying exclusivity on a per character basis isn't the way to go. I think multi-clienting should give an edge, but not in a way where one of the main objectives is to benefit by expanding exclusivity rights to resources(ie. SE buffing your main to solo BF vs using mules to hold maps while your main goes to kill mini bosses like lyka).

    No matter for what purpose it could be, it shouldn't be an excuse to keep a good portion of the channels unless this map is empty in most channels, then i'd allow it since there would be nobody having to wait out for their turn. It's not like you could control all of your mules anyway to farm all at the same time. Don't be greedy and be nice, by sharing your extra channels with the others. :]

    it's not just fair play/greed it's less motivation aswell
    in heartstoper example when you go and farm legit with 1char controling it activly
    you will end with few stopers sold for 300k ea that's barely cover exp/efort to keep do daily
    when you know someone there is farming with [alt tab sumon click ]x10

    sure they deserve to farm with chars they made and put efort but all at once it's abuse kinda
    for me it feel just like nx vote people that make mules to lvl 50(or what ever was gacha limit)
    they should not get ban for their farming/efort ?

    Like my latest post suggested, you should be allowed only if there isn't a ton of people waiting out for you to finish up and take your place so they can start farming too for certain items. At the very least it should be eased, because i assume there is a good number of people who multiclient and since there isn't enough channels to occupy them all at the same time, some will be forced to wait out until they are done but nobody wants to wait just to farm over a game which is ridiculous. If the players can't learn to share because there is a shortage with the channels, then i'd be ok with establishing rules to keep it regulated so that the abuse of multiclienting doesn't goes out of hand. Of course in technical speaking, it's yours though do you really want to make an ass of yourself because you feel like you need this extra map just to earn a little more hearthstoppers? It's already easy enough to make mesos just by voting on a daily basis.

    I'd like to compare it this way.

    Back in the day, thousands and thousands of players are online competing for many popular maps, they have 20 channels.

    Now in Royals, hundreds of players are online and likewise, we only have 20 channels.

    I'm quite certain that the population of maplers about 10 years ago is way more then our population multiplied by the number of chars we are even on simultaneously.

    It's the same thing tbh. Maybe OP didn't get to feel the challenge in finding maps such as Henesys Hunting Ground 1, Pig Beach, Ulu2 and Sky Nest 2 back in the day.
