What's changed in this download that flags up as malware and effectively removed? I've never had these warnings before with previous downloads.
Same as me Edit* Check the configuration of your antivirus and add the MapleRoyals folder into the 'Excluding files and Locations', then install the game again and it should work, it at least did for me.
Yea, I won't be changing my anti virus settings to add this. I've consulted with my good friend Mr Google and it's really not something I want to risk being on my computer. Pity I'll look forward to a future update being clean.
I added it to the excluding file, installed the game without getting it insta removed, and then took off the mapleroyals folder from the antivirus place. (Nvm it got removed later on, I had to add it back again to the excluding file) It isn't bad for your pc I think. This kind of issue has always being around anyways, just that some people didn't get it until now (like me), but yeah no other way to play this server, so just deal with it I'd say.
Virus scan the one you have now, im quite sure that most if not all mapleroyals client had a false positive virus.
I having an issue with the new update. I've downloaded it all installed and all that but every time I try to launch the game it keeps saying the server's offline. (When very clearly it isn't) I have reinstalled twice now and the one time I did manage to login the game just crashed and gave me the same message as before.
I'm sure these people who are having problems with "server offline" are not opening the MapleRoyals.exe as administrator. I had the same problem LOL (such a nub)
So I tried installing from MEGA and made slightly more progress in terms of installation. Issue this time was windows firewall. As soon as the installer installed a couple of programs, the firewall proceeded to immediately delete the content of certain suspicious files, namely: Win32/Maposteal Firstly this would seem like an absurd thing to name a trojan if you wanted to distribute a virus of some sort. But moreover, I don't think I have confidence in the integrity of the download in terms of not getting a virus. I need an explanation from moderators otherwise I suppose I've had a short journey with mapleroyals.
We had experimented with packed clients in a couple of the previous patches. The reason for packing the client was to attempt to reduce detection as a virus, however the results were not as good as we had hoped, so we are back to using an unpacked client at the moment, which may be why some anti-virus programs are detecting it as a virus when they were not before, and likewise some antivirus programs that were previously detecting it as a virus may not be doing so now. Most private server clients get flagged as a virus, and ours is currently no different, however the file cannot cause any harm to your computer. It is only used to connect you to a specified server so that you can connect to the game. Here's links to an updated packed client in case it helps anyone: http://www.filedropper.com/mapleroyals_1
Nope, not in my case at least. I always run MapleRoyals as administrator. The "server offline" problem pops up almost randomly (i.e. sometimes I am able to launch the game). But most of the time, I can't launch the game. Apparently, a lot of people on the US East Coast area are having the same problem.
Yet, I'm on the east coast and haven't had a single issue and I'm using the same client as everyone else :O
all people with connection issues, i had it for the entire day and on my maybe 7th try, it launched on compatibility vista sp2 without admin
I still cannot connect to server. It says enable to connect to server as if it was offline. I tried changing compatibility, run as admim. Nothing works. Help please!
Thanks, I got it to work last night! But came back today, and seems like the client stopped working altogether haha. I'll try redownloading it.
i redownloaded the game few time, change client, off the firewall and still cant go in what is wrong?
either new clients are working for me... edit: It gives me the Server might be offline blablabla... message when i try to open the client. I'm using windows 8.1 so which settings should oi use with the client? any help would be apreciated
