Update New Source Update #3 09/01/17

    Hi Royallers,

    We apologise for the continued downtime. After approximately 30-45 minutes of uptime of the previous update it was noticed that character information was no longer saving properly, and the server was taken offline shortly afterwards so that we could investigate the issue. We now believe to have fixed the problem and the server is now online again.

    In addition we have fixed the following bugs:

    • Monsters that should spawn other monsters upon death should now function correctly. (E.g. Bombing Fish House)
    • Fixed a bug that caused party and guild chat to randomly stop working.
    • Fixed a bug that caused items in the 96th inventory slot not to show.
    • Quest EXP rate has now been correctly set to 3.2x.
    • Quest items should now only drop when the quest is in progress and should only show to players who have the quest in progress.
    • Orbis Exchange Quest now correctly gives 1,600 experience.
    • Kerning Party Quest now gives the correct EXP and King Slime now has a chance to drop Squishy Shoes.
    • Fixed a d/c issue relating to the skill Heavens Hammer.
    • Fixed a bug that caused key mappings not to save.
    • Fixed the secret portals in Valley of Heroes 1 and 2.
    • Fixed a bug causing NPC Pi in Ludibrium not to function correctly.


    We appreciate your patience while we continue to implement functionality and fix and bugs. We expect to roll out another update the server again within 24 hours. Please report any issues you encounter in the bug reports forum. We are aware of some major functionality not working so please avoid reporting bugs for anything mentioned in the patch notes.

    With the old source I would have said absolutely but with the way new source works and processes data, I don't think so. I actually think it helps to only use one channel as it accelerates us finding issues with large quantities of people online at once. Hopefully we will have more updates for everyone soon!

    Thanks a lot, Karven. You are a true hero!

    So I believe the server will be updated rapidly within the next few days. Do you guys have a list of important features to be prioritized in the coming patches?

    I guess channels extension, monster spawn rate, portals and skills should be fixed first so that we can log in and fight some mobs while waiting for other stuff to be updated. How does that sound? :D

    As long as we can keep voting for NX, I don't mind waiting and I think most of us are. It is better to wait 2-3 weeks and play without bugs than getting it faster but with tons of bugs like yesterday.

    The server is up so that we will find more bugs, if the staff knew about all the bugs we played with yday they'd have fixed them before running the server. If you don't want to play with bugs you can wait those few weeks as there are many players on testing the server when the server is online.

    I am begging you, pls fix incorrect parameter.... lol
    Not complaining, just like, it makes the game unplayable/loadable for someone who has windows 8 which I think is pretty common?
    Server just came online and past like week that i've tried to log on to test the server. took me between like 10 and 20 tries to get the game to load and all 3 times I got stuck before I could get on map.
    BUT toinght!!!
    I just tried to load maple 47 times (yes I counted) with NOTHING open. I mean literally. Nothing. I even restarted comp and had nothing running in background and game wouldn't load. so I am saying. closing programs to get maple to load. DEBUNKED!!

    It's been said many times that the client doesn't work well with Windows 8. Many forums have posts about this issue and so far, no one has come up with a good solution. The only other fix which some people have said works is using lolwut, a link to which can be found in the Technical Help board of our forums.

    isn't the fix changing compatibility to windows 98? that's what i used to do when i had win10 and it worked
