Old School Runescape

I use to play Runescape a lot a few years back to the point where I maxed everything and had everything. Runescape means a lot to me because this was when I first started to really get into being and the forum and contributing content to a fanbase/community. After finding MapleRoyals, that took a back seat. After the release of OSRS, I was hooked for the initial few months until settling back into Royals, but I'm still following up on all the updates. With the new Zeah release coming in the horizon, I thought this would be a good time to discuss about OSRS!

 

Shame Deadman Mode is just Clan Showdown now. Zeah looks so promising. I'm really excited. Had a feeling ppl2pass people that emigrated from Runescape play it big on Royals.

 

I didn't go nearly as hard as you two, but I was a maxed pure slowly working on getting all of my skills to 90+ long before EoC. I stuck around through EoC until the legacy update (Which is when I returned to MapleRoyals after a long break). I only really played OSRS until I got managed to get a screenshot of myself at #1 in any skill the hiscores (Not exceptionally hard within the first week). Since I'm a PKer at heart (I believe I still hold the RS3 #1 killcount at the duel arena years after quitting), I watch OSRS PKing streams daily! I don't quite follow all of the updates since I was never too into OSRS but I know bits and pieces!

I'm always tempted to go back and play on OSRS even though I'm a big fan of RS3, but I don't feel as though I can focus on two games at once because I like to fully commit to whatever I'm doing. I might try to play casually but I've never done that so I might just get bored quickly that way.

 

Near 90 all before release of Eoc after EOC i lost the urge to play. Still play OSRS and maple royals popped up one day to help make the grind easier so now I play them both together

 

I had a lot of fun playing the Iron Man mode! Ultimate was a bit too extreme for me, now I have put it on hold as well. I still play a normal character for a little bit. If anyone wants to be friends let me know my IGNs are Iron Naruto and Valveware( but I keep private on friends only), or maybe we can start a Royals CC. I look forward to Zeah I just really hope it doesn't mess up the game. But a new chunk of game content in the OSRS style ..... AWESOME!

 

Zeah is definitely a big risk theyre willing to take but if they can pull it off it might be amazing! My ign is Januarioo if im on im usually smithing

 

I have an Ironman account on OSRS, playing it a bit whenever I'm bored. Back before RS3 came out I was a mercher, had every phat and multiple crackers etc. Started making money by buying Black (g) sets in front of Varrock West bank and moving to the side of it selling for 50k more lmao Then moved on to better things until I was making millions per trade.

If anyone does play OS, feel free to add me - Nilari... I'll turn my private to on instead of friends only for a bit so if you add me pm me and I'll add you back.

 

I'm not currently a member and I'm somewhere between the F2P and P2P limits for friends. I might play again in the future since it's always so tempting but I can't add you yet! Add Kosuna in case I start to play again

Um i played runescape like 6 years ago is that considered old school? The most i can remember is selling big bones from this underground caves and with all those money i got full rune gear... but never got to use them cuz i was too low a level. I remember when i just made a new char and rly loved the rainbow (?) Socks, that i went thru the whole dungeon of spiders (i think) and barely making it in.

I was sad when it got wiped tho :/

 

I'm suprised that I didn't stumble across this thread any earlier. I myself used to play runescape & 07scape, however due to the grind I always preferred to play runescape private servers(I'm a silly casual c: ). I am however a huge fan of pking and i've dedicated my time into runescape private servers for quite some time.

Although I really love Oldschool Runescape, it's no fun playing it by yourself. It's just way too much grinding. I really like the idea of being able to buy yourself into membership without the pay to play aspect. Just the Membership Bonds which ofcourse got really expensive but that's alright. I'd still love to play it every now and then it's just no fun by yourself, but maybe we can sap OSRS names on here as well?

 

I agree grinding by yourself is a bit boring, but it didn't really bother me much. It would be a major decision change if I ever were to get back to playing Runescape more seriously, however.

 

The grinding didn't bother me much either. I got 99 cooking which I'm really proud of haha, though it isn't much. Well doesn't have to be all that seriously ofcourse, but just check it out again, maybe add each other or get in a clan and talk for a bit. See if it's any fun to try again?

Started RS in 2006 before 317, and I have loved the game ever since. I quit RS when the wilderness, staking, and trading went away. Even when they returned I still didn't have the love I had for it, instead I would play private servers and what not, most notably I played SoulSplit. When fans started demanding a recreation of the 2007 version of RS, I was pretty stoked because Jagex was actually listening. I thought it would take atleast a couple years for it to actually become a reality. But next thing you know after the polls, it was going to be released in like a week. I was absolutely jumping for joy, and when it was released I didn't sleep for almost 3 days. But I quit because I've always loved both Maple and RS, and in the end I always end up going between both games. Gotta say I love OSRS still, I love all the updates coming out, and the content.

 

Quit OSRS before i started on this server. Had an ultimate ironman which was alot of fun, even tho i started 8 months after the official release of ironman i still got some decent rank before i quit 7 months ago.
