Old Source Hype ~~~

Too much drama happening here however a lot of people are here are acting like they aren't mad about the the server situation. Don't lie .. I'm mad too.
It is disappointing that a "1 day patch" turned into several days then a week... but eh they gotta do what they gotta do.

 

@Zango dude actually is u are MAD for a game, you need a psychologist or real friends man. I believe, ppl who have more than 20 years have a normal life with or without maple lol.

 

You must be playing a pserver of this game because the monthly fee is steep af for me.

 

Calm down, the reason why you are here (on the forums) is because you want to play Maple Royals (Mostly why everyone is here.. that's why I am here ). I am actually 17 years old, enjoying life, not trying to start dumb fights. Please fix your grammar as well.

Mapleroyals is great, the game in general, Most of the people are great, and it feels very old school... however, the source change NEEDED to happen, as before the amount of bug's was stupid, and it was all because of the old code. Now they have the code, and are fixing it with 1 person, they don't hire anyone else because the server has been hijacked before, trust issues. they trust kevin, so they stick with him. + Paladin really needed a buff too, tbh. now they are viable. without that threaten buff they would be pretty much laughable, and they were. now they aren't though. #FearThePaladin

Also side note, you complaining about the server when it isn't fully ready yet, is pretty childish. You don't even know what it fully feel's like in game, things take time, like literally everyone else here have said, go do something else. stalk the forums go on youtube, mapleroyals isn't the ONLY thing you can do on the internet you know, even if your computer is crappy like mine, and can only run royals. i can still do other thing's.

 

Don't you get it already? "Why not see how the server has changed for the better?" In this moment it is not better, we're talking about this very moment, this days and weeks with no gameplay. I bet the new source will be somehow better than it's old but bro, be my guest to keep waitin' and checking the forums everyday.

I do not agree. Why would anyone prefer an old, buggy source?
What I do agree with is that this whole new source early announcment was poorly handled. I am not judging any of the developers but take a look at the servers state at the moment, you can't do anything! No scrolling, no gaching, quests are glitched, no bossing, no party quests, even some basic functions aren't working properly. you can barely even travel between 2-3 maps and you literally get stuck in the map.
The server might be playable at the moment, but within 30 minutes or so you reach a point of frustration and boredom.
It would have been much smarter to keep working on the new source in the background while keeping the main server running, and just update when it's time.
That's my opinion on what's going on with the server right now.

As for you DaQuality, you seem highly addicted to this game. You behave like an addict and you show all the right symptons. You need your daily dose of Maplestory just like a drug addict needs his daily dose of heroin.
Chill out and realize how you're behaving. Find another game to play in the meantime or something, just don't attack and criticise the staff because it's not going to get you, and us (the players) anywhere.

 

I'm not here to oppose your opinion or anything, but I do want to mention a few things here.
Seeing the world as one where you can't do anything, is completely related to your expectations of said world.
To put this into perspective, Sila was streaming her road to the Quest Specialist medal yesterday, and showed us that a lot of the quests work just fine.
The drop rates for etc items you need for the quests are a bit iffy at the moment, but I wouldn't say the majority of the quests are glitched, as they really aren't.
As for not being able to travel through maps, it means you've likely stucked yourself by using a skill that currently doesn't work, and can be solved completely by consuming a potion of any kind.

I had nothing of interest to do yesterday so I casually walked from Henesys to the golem temple entrance where Sila was at the time on her nightlord.
A lot of people followed me and it was great fun, we chatted a bit, players killed some mobs here and there, and helped Sila get her quest items.
It involved a lot of map traveling between Henesys, Orbis, Ariant and Magatia, and we've not experienced any issues with traveling at all during this time.
That's just all I wanted to share for now, that not everything is as broken as some may believe it to be, and that it just depends on how well aware you are of what you can and can not do as of now.

Life is what you make of it, and you don't need much to be able to have fun.

 

Quests work fine, yes, some do and some don't. They send you to hunt XYZ, and on your road to completion you get stuck in a map, need to use a town scroll, try to relog, get stuck again and vice versa. I might have exaggerated with my statement, but what I am not willing to take back is the point of frustration you reach after 30 minutes of gameplay.
Once again I am not judging you, just suggesting an alternative that could have worked more successfully in my opinion.

 

WTF are you talking about?? I'm more offline than actually on, I can handle pretty good without playing a week or so. I simply started this because of the wait time we have to wait, not neccessary me, that includes all of us the players. That just doesn't seem right waiting weeks when we could wait less as promised.
I can't say the old one was very buggy bro we all enjoyed it many hours aday, with some DCs here and there but if you look commonly it was alright. You could use all the functions that the server offered.

I like the idea of the new source but the way it was handled is what annoys me. They definitely could have polished it up before just throwing themselves into it, especially because they've been talking about it for 2 years.

 

Exacly what I am talking about. That's basically the whole story.

 

Y'all pretend like getting back old source isn't in your interest and only look forward to new source being stable and all, but if Karven suddenly announce tomorrow that he will be reverting back to old source in the meantime while he trial and error new source in open beta again, I bet on my ass MOST OF YOU HERE wouldn't even hesitate for a second to play on old source again and completely forget about the open beta.
