Well.... I'm sure part of the reason the drop tables were set up the way they were was to encourage trading because some classes were better at training at certain places. As much as I love the ironman guild and what you guys do, I feel like that should be taken into account. Drop rates may have been unintentionally nerfed, but that would require Andreas or Kevin to look into. I'll bring it up to staff, but have you considered killing something... more difficult? You might have better luck somewhere else. Also, can't you refine iron hog hoof into plates or am I remembering something that never existed?
Thanks Evan. And trust me, I have explored every possible avenue for grinding steel ore. I tried grinding at skeles, but the actual drop rate is seemingly the same, so it's better to kill something easy that has the same rate rather than something difficult. It is true that you can turn in 100 iron hog hooves into 1 steel bar, so maybe i'll give it a try. I thought it would be too slow, but i haven't tried it and honestly, it's worth it just to try something different.
Drop rates are definitely messed up still, and most ores do have slightly lower rates than they should be for a lot of mobs. Sorting out the rates is something we have been working on in the background for a while but just isn't ready to be pushed live yet. I think Nospeed's currently have the best rate for steel ores if that helps.
