I'm not going to forever reply to this thread as I do need to return to other duties soon, but I do want to say one last thing before I do so.
We have not been very transparent about this and even many previous updates, and we are aware that this frustrates a lot of players since they feel left out in the dark.
This is most definitely something we aim to improve on this year, and this will be starting today.
We will very soon have the patch notes up for this patch, which will show what has been done and what is yet to come in the very near future.
Once more I'd like to apologize on behalf of Staff for all the extra delays and issues this patch has brought with it.

 

No mate, please don't... it was initially said to be a 24 hour patch, it's been 5 days now

 

That's great if you feel that way, and you could just wait for all the content to come out when it eventually does and play then. Nothing is stopping you from just waiting until the source is officially complete. However, I'd rather be able to play and converse with my friends earlier rather than later, bugs and all. I don't want to have to wait just because a few people think it's more fun to unwrap all their presents at once.

 

Just want to say I'm not going to be changing my diaper until the servers are back up as a form of protest.

It's really that simple. You can donate. I donated. But does that give me stock in the game? No. I got my RP exclusive stuff, and that was that. That's what I'm entitled to as a donor. I'm not entitled to anything else. I advise everyone grow a pair.

People need to chill the fuck out...

If this was a simple task it would be done in 24h or less. They are not fucking with us, they are trying to get things right.

IMO this update could take a week so everything is smooth when its released. Just go play another game, go do something else with your life and let this guys work. When the time pass you will be able to play just fine.

What? You will stop playing/donating? Ok thats your choice. I can't believe that a 5 day offline server would be enough for most people to quit playing this game that I think most here plays/knows it for +8 years.

Also, the patch notes would be cool.

I apologize if you weren't informed but there were many reasons why people are pissed. Here's a little update since it looks like you didn't do your research or try to understand why people are mad. The link provided gives us a notice that the server will be down 24h. (https://royals.ms/?page=news&id=233) BUT then after this, they gave us a delayed notice (aprox 30m before the server is suppose to go up) that the server will need to be down for another 18 hours. After this, it needs to go down for a few days and etc. Imagine getting up early each day to try to get on when Royals should be up to see the new patch but then finding out that the server is still down. Along with this, people got frustrated at the part where royals weren't as transparent to why it would be down longer until Dimitri stepped in (you can find the post if you want it's in here) stating that they messed up and they apologize and told us that they will tell us the patch notes.
The REASON why people are upset with Royals is because of the 1day statement of the patch that failed and then the failure of executing the patch after that and so on. (The red lines in the link are updates which also show that they never said a week and gave hope to users that the patch wouldn't be a long wait) That's the reason why they are mad. It's not the fact that they are impatient and that they don't have a life. It's because they felt betrayed that the server they play on weren't as transparent and punctual as they would have hoped. The GMs here apologized for this and said they would be more transparent (props to them for saying they messed up, takes a lot to state that). So for you, instead of telling people to chill out maybe you should understand why they are pissed.... and calm them down instead of saying "play another game" or " go do something else".

On another note, good job Royals for posting the patch notes quickly and explained what's buggy and giving us a heads up to why we will need server checks for the upcoming week/weeks.

I also checked the server each day thinking the update was over, when I saw it was not I just come here, read some GMs feedback and went back to my life.

I agree that they should really have calculated the time down better, since when you say you will be done by X you create an expectation. However, I don't think that is a big deal as some people here are making it to be. Actually I was laughing when they extended for more 5 hours after saying 4 hours was enough.

So, it was something bad they did, but I don't think it was intentional. Anyway I'm sure they will know better next time.

As they said, this is the biggest update to date so it is kind of undertandable their lack of knowledge of how much it would take to fix stuff. Since I don't undertand anything related to running a server I can't comment on how hard/unpredictable this updates are.

 

It's not like this server will be popular forever, make the best of it while you can.

 

You don't think its a big deal? Cool for you. Not everyone has the same mindset as you we all come from different backgrounds and are educated differently. Hence why you laugh at this while others are frustrated. In addition, they didn't just make ONE x date. They made about 5 dates they they failed upon. In addition to this, your luck must be cool since in the beginning and till now, the GMs only posted updates near the end when they patch should have been released. We all know it's not intentional buddy and its clear by the way they stated this when they said they messed up from the earlier posts (If you still haven't looked back after I said they said they made a mistake). I'm fine with people leaving but you making it sound like it's not a big deal won't help Royals adapt. Even their latest patch stated that they made changes to their T&C because of feed back. What I'm seeing from your message is that it's fine that they messed up but we shouldn't be upset which means no pressure which equals to them doing this in the future? I hope not lmao. I'm not that upset with Royals since they know how they messed up and know what to do since they received feedback from the community. That's why people are saying they are quiting and stuff. The users are stating why they are leaving so that Royals can fix themselves and improve. If you just leave, Royals won't know why and assume it's not on them.

 

Agreed, I come from a background of being an extremely hardcore gamer so none of you can possibly understand the pain I feel when I wake up in the mid/late afternoon and see that the server maintenance has been extended yet again.

 

First off I'm not here to flame on the staff, just making a point to the guy I'm quoting:

Alright really even the staff themselves acknowledge and apologizes for the inconveniences. They said it would be done by a certain time and failed to deliver on their word 5 times now. If someone says they will do something they "owe" it to you to deliver on their word since people will make plans according to the things promised to them. Being displeased at a numerously broken promise that cost many people a lot of time and dissappointments doesn't make them "self entitled brats"

I agree completely that we don't owe anything to the staff. The hours they work towards the server are their own time and we should be grateful of that. However, that doesn't necessarily mean we should bash the people who are getting restless and angry for the prolonged maintenances. These are people who REALLY love the server that the GMs have created. It's evident when they complain about the downtime. If they didn't love or care about the server, there wouldn't be any complaints. All the complaining from many of the players recently doesn't come from a bad place in the heart. If anything, it should be good that people are complaining about the prolonged downtimes. It just goes to show how many people love MapleRoyals.

Just wanted to throw in my 2 cents. I hope this somewhat makes sense to you guys. This is personally how I view all the restlessness that has been happening.
