    Fix this if the server should ever reach some tens of thousands of users online on average. Populated boat rides were hella fun back in the days on GMS. They were one of the most social moments of MapleStory.
    I was pretty sad when I first realized that this server is too unpopulated to have this experience again.

    I remember those times, when good players (Only 100+ levels), used to tell us hide, there's Balrogs are coming and we're like going to the down entrance to look. (I'm talking about Ellinia - Orbis / Orbis - Ellinia).

    And the comfy Omok games with others to pass the time on the boat.

    If it comes to nostalgia these boat rides are a huge thing. People have so much good memories connected to them. If we ever should hit a reasonable player number, they should definitely be readded. But yea, I doubt we are ever gonna reach a player number high enough.

    Let's be real; rich players don't even go into the ticketing booth, let alone use the ships. Majority of them just utilize teleport rocks which we can bargain from 1.3-1.5m each from the FM. Being a stingy ass myself, I've never used teleport rocks in my entire playtime here, and I can say, from my experience, the amount of player I've met taking boat rides at channel 1 before this is less than the fingers I can count on my two hands.

    Making merchants expire is such a bad move. The economy depends on the player's ability to sell items. If only the rich can afford spare nx to buy merchants while the poorer players save nx to buy AP resets, the number of stores in FM will drastically decrease. If I need to sell a 10mil scroll now, previously I would set up a store without thinking but now I have to consider the cost of the store and therefore will only sell if I have accumulated alot of items/price my items at a higher price. This is destructive to the server because the poor players who are willing to sell at 10m are not able to do so, while the richer players keep pushing the prices up since there is a reduced supply in the FM. That will make almost everything more expensive in FM with lesser sellers to choose from, making items increasingly inaccessible to the player base. Un-needed items kept in inventory -- less supply in fm -- higher prices -- harder to afford for a new player -- quit or semi quit to accumulate NX via voting -- lose the fun. Another way of looking at it, Un-needed items kept in inventory -- not sold = no mesos -- cannot purchase new gears/items -- lose the fun -- quit. Its bad, you will see.

    Hello there. Do you have ever played GMS? Well, I think you haven't.
    GMS has always been running like that, regular people just stand there on FM and spam to sell any unwanted things, for many years, it was normal and basic earning mesos experience. Still theres thousands of players who didin't leave and enjoyed the life on maplestory. Also everyone could be successful and happy. Why MapleRoyals should be diffrent? It's the same maplestory gameplay.

    So, whats the problem right now? We will still be able to SPAM - SELL, like used to many many years ago. Unless, you rich man, as you said, as was in the GMS also, only they had Merchants. Also, don't forget about character merchants, like stand AFK at FM to sell. :)

    Well if you think about it.. maybe 80% of the players online wont be sitting there in FM and actually be more spread around. I kinda miss hene hoes too.

    Expiring FM merchants sound really bad :/ pls no ~f4 don't kill this great and essential feature which makes the FM functioning with a low player-base...

    Oh man I hated boat rides so much in GMS, except for the first few times when it's "new". Probably gonna quit if they implement this, can't be arsed to wait 100 years everytime i wanna move to different spot

    There is always teleport rocks. :)
    I'd like to bring it back, but the private server should have his benefits too. So, I do not think slow travelling will be brought back.

    As much as i don't favor the FM button being removed and the concept of GMS-like boat rides, but hey, isn't it that makes Royals nostalgic, if that's truly what you want to experience? So i don't see what's the issue here...although now I'll have to walk to the FM...

    Is the game up already ? Cause after downloading the new patch, it still shows an error msg that the server is ongoing server checks

    I'll adopt the "wait-and-see" approach to see how the changes brought by this patch will change the in-game dynamics.

    Until then, I won't rush to judgments.

    Expiring hired merchants is the best move, now people have more chance to set up a shop after a server check :3 they dont cost that much too, i believe a 14days mushy is worth around 15k nx and thats what, 2 days of voting? Also now we will finally see store permits in fm, for the new ppl is more than convenient, and when they become rich, they will switch to mushies, stop crying guys, no offense, pce :D

    For what it's worth, I've only been playing MR for a few weeks as a nostalgia trip with some friends and am planning on sticking around after thoroughly enjoying the how the server is both economically and socially. I've also been on-and-off playing MS private servers for years so I know how this kind of stuff goes.

    I am in the appearant minority when it comes to the changes to FM warp and merchants but I'll tackle both separately.

    For the FM warp change, I didn't even know this existed (lol). The fact that it's been (appearantly) so convenient for so long to just FM warp for w/e reason, be it buffs, offloading loot, etc., makes the outcry understandable. However, I think that FM warping for buffs dissuades teamwork, one of the core aspects of old school GMS. Why bring X job if you just have a mule, easily leveled via inflated exp rates, sitting in FM to buff you from safety? I think that's unhealthy for the game, especially when there are over a thousand online players perpetually. God forbid you have to interact with other players to get what you want, right? I'm probably in the minority here, but the reason I joined this server is because my friends and I could nostalgia trip on KPQ and LPQ. Some of the players are so entitled to their convenience that they prefer rushing LPQ stage 1~3 for experience. That defeats the purpose of the PQ, just go grind if that's what you want. The only relationships I've built on this server thus far have been with the people willing to run full PQs because it's fun and silly shit happens that we can all laugh about. Those experiences are what the game is built on and why we have such fond memories of old school GMS. I know this turned into a mini-rant on PQ, but the idea is that the ultra-convenient FM warp played a part in alienating players from each other. It'll take some getting used to but it's not a gamebreaking change. Maybe you'll just have to play with people you don't know sometimes?

    As for the FM merchants, having a one-time purchase merchant is good and bad. It's good in that it allows just about any player to fish for competitive market spots and easily offload valuables. However, it can also be a detriment. Too many shops to search through can be a hassle and it means that people will put up junk just because they have a store. Having stores that expire can be great because there can be a higher concentration of quality items. Maybe the merchant economy picks up as well due to players needing to drop prices to sell their stock before their NPC runs out? I think its just another issue of something that was convenient but possibly unhealthy for the game is being removed and there are some tears.

    TL:DR convenient but possibly unhealthy things are being removed, people that took advantage of these are crying that they can't do that anymore.
