As far as I know, they're just weapons for you to collect. I've been asking around, but no one seems to know where or who to turn them in to.

I think I remember one of the NPCs saying it ends on the 20th of February.

Yes, the roses are simply collectible weapons, and they were pretty much a Valentine's event tradition back in the day. They're useful for Islanders, low levels just starting out and low level Beginners, but for everyone else, they're just a cute bit of nostalgia that you can pose in the FM with or put on your mules/alts (or throw away, if you wish).

As for when events end, no definite decision has been made yet. We're planning to add a new Valentine's event around the beginning of February so I would think it's likely that we'll end the events somewhere between 20th-28th Feb. We'll let you know when we have a definite end date!

Thanks for clarifying the roses situation. A 'rosy affair' leads me to believe that if you turn them all in or collect all four of them in your inventory will make something happen. The event description seems really vague this time around, but it's fun when the community comes together and figures it out.

Ahhh, sorry, I was completely out of it with tiredness and .wz editing related stress at the time the patch notes were posted and hadn't noticed that bit. I'll ask Matt to clarify the situation later. Sorry about that!!!

I believe the event description Matt used is the same from our post last year :p

I've confirmed it with Matt that the Valentine's Roses are indeed just pretty collectibles, and as John says, Matt used the event description from last year, which is how Nexon themselves described the event, I believe, and I'm not sure if it was ever revealed what was supposed to happen if you collected all four of the rose colours, other than a sense of satisfaction at having finally gotten the rare blue rose. Apologies if the event description was misleading! (I've now edited it.)

When I try to download the new wz files on my VM, they save as empty zip files. On my regular comp no issues.

Any option other than downloading the setup?

Just show file extensions and rename .zip to .wz. Worked for me @Goofy

You should always disable the "hide known extensions for known file types" option, it's unhelpful and potentially harmful. A good number of widespread viruses have been circulated by being named blahblah.pdf.exe and of course showing as blahblah.pdf (or some other innocuous name).

    A bit off topic.. but.

The game files itself take up 1.8GB of space, but the installer is very unorganized and leaves behind copies of the msi packages in some cases.

On windows, run %temp% and clear this folder's contents. * I am not responsible for any unwanted behaviour that occurs in result. *

The %temp% directory is a location where programs store their temporary files. These files are meant to be deleted after a period of time.
The InstallShield wizard leaves behind msi packages that it used to install MapleRoyals with in this location.

Just to clarify, do the events listed in this thread (Roses, Ace of Hearts, Wish Tickets, Red Envelopes) end on the same day as the Lovestruck King Slime event, on the midnight (server time) of 2nd of March? Thanks! :)

I remember reading a notice from Matt in the chatbox saying the event items will stop dropping but the NPC's to trade them in will still work for a few days or so. Not absolutely sure though.

He did say this, but he didn't specify when the NPCs will stop accepting them.
