If you die while on your mount and are res'd by a bishop, you will come back to life with the speed and jump of your mount but you will also be able to cast spells. My friends also said that they actually saw me on my mount while I was casting spells as well. We were able to re-create it a few times to make sure it wasn't just a fluke. (We're also all mages, if that matters...)
