Pie Monster spawn/drop rate

Really weird, I trained at himes for like 1h and got enough for my 1st and 2nd 6 hour turn in. If dimitri's experience is close to what is typical though it's probably best to increase the drop.

 

You can only pick up and turn in one set of item drops at once tho o.o

 

Yeah I Tp'd out and turned in, then came back and grabbed another set almost instantly.

 

The spawn rate of Pie Monsters is low enough so that we would have a relatively balanced event if, say, the monsters were guaranteed to drop exactly one ingredient for every kill. Sadly that isn't the case...

 

3hrs at Petris to get the items and finish that quest... not to mention getting a pumpkin pie as a reward meh

 

being 200 this is my only motivation to go out and kill non-boss mobs. the low spawn and drop rate has already turned me off to the point where i've given up on a ring or hat (which is desirable because it has potential to add to my damage range). i think it should be increased, not to the point where it is easy but enough that it isn't frustrating to farm for hours without getting a single ingredient. of course this is only my opinion.

 

Getting all the ingredients once on my 14x bishop took a little over 2 hours at WS. At these rates, getting the rings for both my characters would be too time consuming to be viable. I think changing the drop rates to 100% while keeping the pie spawn the same would keep the event challenging but make it less frustrating.

 

It's taking me about 2-3hours to grind 4 ingredients. After turning in the quest twice I got 2 pies. As a person who works a full-time job I can only do this quest twice per day IF I GET LUCKY. This event only lasts for 2 weeks. My chances for a pilgrim hat have to be next to nothing. This is a major let down for me. I believe anyone playing 6 hours for a stretch of 2 weeks should be able to claim the event prize without trouble.

 

I grinded at ulu 1 with my Bishop, 1 shotting and managed to get 3/4 ingredients in about 2-3 hours. Lots of dupes or no drops at all. I think the drop rate is fine but the spawn rate should increase a bit.

 

My only other comment I have to make on the event, except to thank Matt and those who helped him with all the hard work, is that I uttered some rather un-adminly words and phrases on completing the quest twice and both times getting Pumpkin Pie as a reward! Quest, you are trolling me! Fingers crossed for better luck next time, eh? ^______^

As someone playing a 2nd job f/p mage atm in over an hour maybe closer to two i saw 3 maybe 4 pies and got 0 drops. It is far too low for jobs with little to no mobbing. I logged off and went to bed because I couldn't stand how rarely I was seeing them and that the ones I saw didn't drop anything.

 

spawn rate is fine in my experience i finished the quest in around 1 -2 hours at petris maybe because imma mage but the droprate however should be increased.

 

Can I suggest partying with someone who does have a mob skill? Since the Pie Monsters sometimes drop an item that a player already has, you'll be able to loot the quest drops that the other player doesn't need, and maybe you'll occasionally get a drop that you don't need and they do. It puts you in with a better chance than trying to farm items solo does, anyway.

 

Rule no 3. No parties with other players (Also includes Leeching)
- As an Ironman you stand alone in the cruel but sweet world of Maplestory you will have to train by yourself to reach the inner strength that a true Ironman possesses. This counts for boss fights as well (with exception for bosses that drops unique skill books)

I found 2 sets in an hr this morning at ulu2 as a bishop. Petris seems pretty bad. Too bad I didn't turn in my items to have picked them up again. At least make the pies tradeable? B>pies for my bishop
