How about a special trade button that warps us back to the FM, like we had a market button but now a trade button
I am fully, completely and utterly with you on this. And reading about 2013 gave me such feels. I miss everyone. I've been around this server for over 4 years now on and off (jesus how did that happen), and I can tell you that the only thing keeping me around has been the amazing people I got to meet on here. Sure, now that the server is bigger you can meet people who are in your guild and through boss runs quite easily, but chatting as you're grinding or bossing is very different to just sitting in a map and just having a conversation. Without sitting in FM from time to time I wouldn't be where I am now. I might have still got to meet the amazing people I did, but I could have never got to know them if we didn't just 'pop into FM to say hi' and end up talking until 4 in the morning when we all have work at 7 and we're going to be so tired but we were just having such a good chat. Since the FM button is no longer an option, I do think the social map is a great idea. I have gone inactive and came back again so many times at this point, but I know that I always come back when I am reminded of all the people I love who are online and how much I'd love to spent more time playing with them. Currently, I've been inactive for the longest it's ever been (I think?) and I truly believe that the fact I can't just pop around to say hi to people is a big part of that. The longest I spent online in the last couple months was a couple weeks ago when the chair gach was on, simply because I logged in to use it and the map had a group of people in it. I said hi and we got talking, just like we used to do in FM, and the conversation kept me on for maybe 4 hours, just sat in that tiny Ludi room. I don't think it matters what map it is or what happens in it (to an extent), but having a place where people just hang out and you can just say hi to a friend who's not been on in months without travelling for ages or talk to someone new for whatever reason without travelling for ages (or getting them to) is so important imo. It's pretty simple in my mind. The social aspect of this server has always been it's most amazing feature for me (and I think most people??), making it harder to socialise and chat and have fun with people just makes you less likely to do it and as an end result make the experience online a lot less fun. <3
Sounds cool, but I voted no because I want everyone everyone at Hene. Might sound stupid, but one of my favourite parts of the game was that you could always find people at Hene to socialize; it used to be one of the few maps that would never be empty.
I'm with you there. But I think we may have to witness the death of Hene-hoes, as they were dead in the Old Source. It was good while it lasted...
Hene hoes are barely a thing already, even without the FM button there's more people hoeing in the FM than in hene since it's still easier to get to for everyone. I'd rather not segment the community even more by forcing people into an even more inaccessible map to socialize. I honestly don't see the appeal of being Henesys over a more centralized map to socialize unless you want it to be an exclusive club. I want to bring together as many people as possible to meet and interact.
Well here comes into play the so-call nostalgia everyone likes to bring up. For years Henesys has be the place for people to hangout and even tho a new hangout place with easy access wouldn't hurt, I personally prefer hanging out at Henesys and having more people there instead.
I happen to prefer the nostalgia of Henesys being the social hub of Maple Story on a nostalgic server, that which becomes redundant when one purposefully creates a new social hub world with far more ease of access. Crucify me, pls.
Hene hoes to me were always the elite NX hoes who wouldn't even talk to you unless your character was KAWAI AF. Almost every time I went there with my non NX look (because the few times I got NX I spent it on gach) they just ignored me. They would make fun of people in smegas for not having NX, or not having as many smegas as them. Those aren't the people I enjoyed socializing with. Not to mention that Henesys was hardly the social hub of maple. It's more like the country club of maple. And don' worry @Kleric I won' crucify you. You guy's circular reasoning does it for me.
Huh. Dunno where you were from, but in Windia people were friendly and it was a great place to rest when people were tired of grinding or bossing and just wanted to relax and chat with others. No big deal if there’s gonna be a new map, but hanging out at hene would probably be the, or one of the most nostalgic (Something people here tend to often invoke) things in Maplestory.
Bera's Henesys was good, too. The only piece of NX equipment I ever owned in 10 years of playing was a transparent hat. I was widely accepted there. All I want is for you to understand that those of us who disagree don't want Henesys as a social hub to become redundant. All we've done here is state our preference and why; not even arguing against the implementation of your social button.
You both stated you voted no. So yes, you are arguing against the social button. And if you aren't why are you even posting in this thread, a thread whose singular purpose is for the implementation of a social button? Also I am from Windia. Sure, there were some nice people, but most were pretty elitist.
"Since the FM button likely won't be coming back, would you be in favor of a new social map instead?" We voted no, that we are not in favor of it, and explained our own personal reasons why. That's not an argument, it's an expression of opinion. We were never attacking your reasons to prefer a social button. If you only want people who agree with you in here, get rid of the option to vote "No", and state clearly that disagreement will not be tolerated.
We all had a different experience on Maple so we'd all find different things nostalgic. Sure, there's a bunch of stuff we'll all have in common (mostly update related just from playing around the same time) but it doesn't mean everything will be! For some people Hene was the social hub, for others it wasn't. I'm personally right in between because there were times I would afk there and chat to people but also times I was blanked because of my non-nx char lol. But it's all a bit irrelevant to this discussion anyways. Vote whatever you want. That's why there's a vote.
You all talking about hen-hoes... I remember that from before FM working at gms. People used to be at perion for merchant, and henesys or kerning for social. Except for the pro ones who used to stay at el nath
