Regarding friends who may have stupidly hacked in the past

I can understand the position of Jordy, as someone who hacked a few servers in the past, I fully understand how it feels to regret hacking.
There are rules and those rules sit for one main reason- Balance.
That balance is extremely essential and important to the community, because it makes the game playable, people who break the rules taking a chance of getting banned and outcast from the server.
I'm almost sure he won't hack again but sometimes you have to be tough on a person and let him alone understand his mistakes.
