Solved [Solution Given] Regarding the issue of specific characters disconnecting:

I just recently, as of a couple of days ago, redownloaded and started playing MapleRoyals after a nearly 4 year hiatus. There are a couple of things I'd like to address with this post, but there's a single primary issue I want to tackle, as it doesn't only apply to me.

Some quick context; I've been playing on a brand new account for the past two days, as I couldn't remember the login info for my old account, and didn't think I'd be able to access the old email that the account was made under. However, some divine insight struck me earlier tonight and I miraculously remembered the password to the email associated with my old account. Logged in, reset Mapleroyals password, and was able to log in with no issues. Huzzah! My Hermit is back and accessible again. I immediately logged in, and noticed a couple of issues, but more on that momentarily.

After scouring all 3 of my characters to check inventories, I opened the cash shop and found a hefty sum of NX that I'd left for myself years ago through the vote system and went to work restoring one of my NX outfits, as well as securing a pet, and the 4 primary pet equips. I transferred the NX items to my inventory, equipped everything and began on my merry way relearning how to play a level 71 Hermit after four years of degraded muscle memory. Everything was going fine for ten or so minutes, I travelled from PiratePQ towards El Nath and the first disconnect happened.

Aqua Road, just west of the hub city, my game lags for a moment, freezes, then crashes to the login screen with the message "Unable to connect to game server." I figure it's a fluke, log back in, no issue. Play for another 8 to 10 minutes, and again I disconnect in Orbis Tower 1st Floor... and again in El Nath... and again... and again... each time crashing me to the login screen. I figure it's an issue with the servers and persist on to grind out some Coolie Zombies to get my muscle memory back. Some 30 minutes go by with three or four more instances, and at this point the crashing is becoming irritating. I look to see if a new patch dropped, or if server maintenance is being performed; nothing. I made my way back to Orbis in the hope of just getting to Henesys before I retired for the night, crashed twice on my way there, get on the boat, and everything was going fine until I'm 3 minutes away from my ferry ride from Orbis to Ellinia being over, and I crash out of the game. I'm frustrated that I wasted the 5K mesos (More on why that's frustrating at the bottom of this post) and 15 minutes of my time just to log back in and find myself dropped at the Orbis ticketing station.

Having followed the rules regarding making a post here, I scoured the forums for the past couple of hours to find any semblance of similarity to my problem and stumbled upon a couple of posts in both the Technical Issues section, and Character Issues section, that are nearly identical to the problems I've been having since regaining access to this account. It should be noted that at no point did I crash on my newly made account I've been playing over the past couple of days. The game has run relatively smoothly outside of a lag spike here and there. It's at this point I notice that a couple of posts have been made in the last few weeks regarding only specific characters crashing, and I take note that none of them have been resolved.

After taking a look at my character, I notice that there's only a single similarity between ALL of these other characters and my own. Every one of them had a pet equipped (Though all of the pets are different), and all of them, including my own, had Wing Boots, Magic Scales, Meso Magnet and Item Pouch equipped to their pet. I've since unequipped my pet and in the thirty or so minutes it took me to travel from El Nath back to Henesys via the Orbis Ferry and pop onto the forums here to write this post, and not a single crash has occurred. It would seem that whatever is causing these intermittent crashes followed by the "Unable to connect to the game server," error messages is being caused by one of the four equippable pet items, or with pets in general. That issue is, at least for me, seemingly solved, but I wanted to address it with this post to make the server staff aware of the potential cause.

The secondary reason for my writing this post is that all 3 of my characters; CosmicAeon, AeonOfStrife, and Aasmir, have all seemingly lost quite a bit of their inventory in my hiatus, and I don't believe it's because of any issue with my account being compromised. All 3 characters still have any items that were present in their Head, Weapon, Top, Shoes, Metal, Cape and Pendant slots still equipped. That said, all items that were present in their Shield, Eye, Ear, Botttom and Glove slots were lost. I'm not going to pretend I know what was missing from each characters individual slots, or even warrant a guess at what the stats could have been on them, so I'm not going to ask that anything be restored post-hiatus save for two requests;

My primary character Aasimar, is missing one piece of his otherwise incredibly well scrolled gear; my 20ATK, 0 slot Brown Work Gloves, given to me as a gift by an old friend when I first started the character. I understand it's an incredibly expensive item, and I have no way to verify that the item ever existed as I don't have any screenshots from back when I last played, so if the recreation of this item is impossible, I completely understand. Beyond that, as I pointed out earlier, I was frustrated to have lost a whopping 5,000 (Oh No! /Sarcasm) mesos to the ferry ride back to Victoria Island, as the 300,000,000 or so mesos that I had left on Aasmir before logging off for the last time in these last four years, were completely gone. I checked storage, and my other two characters to no avail. Again, if this items can't be restored, as I have no proof that I ever had them, so be it, I simply figured I might tack on the request at the end of this post. I have to gear up two other characters entirely, so having some funding back would be well appreciated.

I hope my experience helps the staff narrow down why a small set of players may be experiencing this annoying disconnect issue, and if anything can be done about my lost gloves and mesos, it would be appreciated, but those losses will surely not keep me from enjoying my time back on the server.
