This is a topic that has come up many times before, but I personally never saw any resolution on the matter. Please excuse me if this thread is redundant. Why are there are gender restrictions on NX at all? It's not too surprising that old nx from a long time ago was left as-is. However, I find this most surprising with all the RP items, considering they are all added to be purchased by, presumably, as many players as possible. Many nx items have gender restrictions, yet can still be tried on as either gender in the cash shop window which makes it even more confusing! It's a bummer that my male character can't dress up as a witch or use the red ninja outfit that is classified for females. Some items which I, at first, thought would be gender restricted due to either being more feminine or masculine-coded end up having no restriction at all. So what gives? Ultimately I feel that all nx items should be free of gender restrictions. I have a good understanding as to why in-game armor can't be changed to be gender-free, but nx doesn't suffer from those same issues. Any thoughts as to why this can't be done? And of course, any supporting comments about how it could expand ur wardrobe and create more possibilities would be appreciated too ^_^ Thanks everyone
I honestly can't find any staff comment on this, except that a 2021 blog said they won't introduce a gender change coupon. But you yourself said this in a thread in 2018: 'This is not possible to implement because of how item IDs work. This has already been discussed twice before. Now everyone move on.' Could be taken out of context as i haven't read that whole thread, if that was about normal equips instead of nx equips than I apologize as it's a different topic. I can't find where you got this information though, as like I said can't find a staff comment. But yup agreed that cosmetics should be wearable independent of gender. I did find another comment by someone that said you can make a character of the other gender, buy equips on that one and then wear it on the other gender character. Haven't tried this to verify though. Sorry no links to source comments as I'm on mobile and limited time, will see if I can link them when back on pc.
That first comment from me was from a thread about normal equips, and it's very understandable why those can't be changed. That's been discussed plenty elsewhere so I won't go into it here. I found that same comment in another thread, but I tried buying some (Female) nx for my male character on another account and I could not wear them I tried 4 pieces and none of them worked.
