Okay, I've edited the main post - as Daniel said, unless you are the affected person, you don't know how it is. I never meant for it to become a heated debate, I used a bad example and I regret that. I am sorry if I offended anyone with using that example, the fundamentals of it still remain though for OTHER bad words. (there is one report where someone says something along the lines of 'lazy bitch', not even speaking to the person who reported, and the person reports in hope of banning them)
I think we all need to accept that Royals will always be the Tumblr of Maple private servers. Everyone gets offended by everything and GMs hand out bans left and right for stupid shit. I'm not speaking for everyone, but I'm gay and I don't give a shit if people use the 'f' word as long as it's not used to insult me. If it's clearly to a friend in a joking manner then I couldn't care less. I feel the same towards the n word but I have no right to talk about that since I'm white. The staff is never going to change their rules no matter how much backlash they get. Just to be safe I would make sure to talk to everyone like you're talking to a child on club penguin. But even if you do that, I'm sure you'll get banned for something else like looking at someone the wrong way or dropping a chair.
I really don't care what opinions the players have on the words. People from different countries, cultures, ethnic backgrounds, sexualities, etc will always have conflicting opinions. At the end of the day, everyone is playing a server ran by myself, and if I don't want the words used in the game that is simply something that people need to learn to respect. It's comparable to if you go on holiday to a foreign country which has different laws or etiquettes than you are used to, people should be courteous and respect them rather than challenging them just because it's something you do in your own country. Where I live in the UK, the N word is used much more commonly as pure racism by white people towards black people - rather than black people using it between themselves. And the F word is used simply as hatred towards homosexuals, or by kids that don't even know what the word even means. There's just nothing about these two words that would ever cause me to want to use them since I am not a racist nor a homophobe. Nor would I allow them to be used in a community that has been created by me and will continue to be moderated by me and the rest of the staff.
I've been called the N word by white people plenty of times and I'm black. I honestly don't give 2 fucks what they say. Sometimes u just gotta learn to ignore people and don't let them bring u down. Im not saying it's ok to use those slurs, but to me it's not that big of a deal. And when people report u for using a word even when it has nothing to do with them is petty.
