After thinking hard for quite some time.. thought of a solution in mind wanted to share out for brainstorming; First come first serve mapowner rules "...Perhaps mapowner should be passed around according to the arrival time sequence of players in a map?" Scenario 1 : -A enter an empty skele map and owned the map -B enter the map and buy leech from A -A for any reason afk/dc for 3mins, map auto passed down to B even if B didnt hit any mob -B happen to afk/dc for 3mins too, no other player is at the map thus map is open to grasp Scenario 2 : -A arrives first, B leeching A while B enters the map after A. -C wanted to search for map, enter a map with A/B is there. -D enter the map later than C. D wanted to buy the map from A. -D will have to go thru A > B > C in order to obtain the map, thus C is able to get in between and hold of the map and not allowing A to sell the map to whoever enters the map next. ---------- -If it just happened that C is a mule/friend of A, C couldn't pass back the map to A as D is queued after C too. As long as D stays at the map, C couldn't pass the map back to A. -noted that as C couldn't pass the map back to A, it doesn't mean D could KS the map as the mapowner priority is still given to C, it just mean that A and B is off the mapowner list and they need to re-enter/re-attack the map to re-queue the mapowner list, while once C doesn't attack for 3mins, map will be passed down to D. Note: If you're the one queuing, once u DC/CC/leave the map, you're off the queuing list of the map ownership. * pros : -Map owner doesn't let you actually owns the map, everyone in the map own the map partially. -With this, leecher couldn't guard the map for the leech seller. -Doesn't allow map transferring to others(friends or buyers) -Prevent further map hogging behavior or people who abuse the current mapowner command to not utilise the map efficiently. (hit, afk do else work, and stuff) -Yes you have to hit once every 3min to have top ownership priority, but you couldn't control who the map will goes to after u afk 3mins later. -Potentially encourage more party training in popular map. -First come first serve cons : -lots of mules to guard map will occur? -encourage map campers to stay in the map/ make an effort to queue for map. (might be a pros?) merely an idea up for brainstorming.... still thinking hard for flaws or is there any better potential solutions.
I think only people who only sell skele map but not other map, implementing minidungeons is the best solution to solve it. But i don't mind people who sell map, but if people selling map will get banned, that is a really joke.
IMO "selling" maps shouldn't be a bannable offence as it is not even an offence. Since there are alot of demand for some maps and due to the map owner system and 10channels. This lead players who want to leave their map, trys to sell it using the map owner system which is not even "theirs" to begin with. In short, It's just what players chose to do with the system. Also, Instead of placing the fault towards the seller side, why not looking it on the buyer side? They are the ones who buys maps anyway, which cause players to sell maps. If players stop buying maps, then players who tries to sell maps will eventually stop.
Please explain how it is greedy to sell a map? I dont understand it, the majority of maps being sold are to someone who is about to sell leech anyway? so what you have to pay 10m for a map? your going to make 40m/hr-70m/hr depending on your class, consider it a down payment i guess, people are acting like its hard to make money around here!
In the grand scheme of things, a person who decides to sell their skele map knows for a fact that: 1. there may possibly be a buyer 2. a humble amount of money is made from doing so 3. they can't be punished for selling a map that they technically are ahold of 4. most important of all, the map is in VERY high demand. Now, I'm not endorsing map selling at all. In fact, I don't believe that it is really necessary to exert energy into selling a map at all once you are done making use of it. However, I just want everyone to know that there are valid reason's why a person would want to sell a map. It's up to them if they want to spend the extra time waiting for a buyer. If they end up wasting their time, what does it matter? Just move on with your day, it does not concern you. And honestly, I don't know why heated debates are held over this. Can't people who disagree with map selling just ignore them? Map selling, in my opinion, isn't really necessary, but it IS something that will continue to happen and shouldn't be causing a fuss.
That's a funny issue.. Maybe "sell map" is greed. But sell leech is not? When high level player leech other character or buyer , it's make other low level player lost this map. When boss respawn how many people occupy map but no attack until their team arrive? That's problem almost happen everyday, but no one can blame to it. My friend & I also hate sell map , but no reason ban them... Because rule is who is mapowenr , who can occupy this map.
I usually find a spot way before I encounter a need to buy a map. It doesn't look like a big deal to me.
Is this really that big of an issue? Yes it's ridiculous that maps are being sold, but I just see it as a consequence of certain maps being too good. I doubt people are going to sit in a map for too long for 15m or so unless they quickly find a buyer, and there are other places to train besides GS2 and Skelegons anyway.
