There are times when rebooting the server works by itself, but there are also plenty of times when updates, bugfixes, database fixes and exploit patches need to be applied. Sometimes there are connectivity issues or even DDos attacks. Occasionally the whole server, including the webserver have to be restarted. Sometimes we have to get our host involved to find out what went wrong. There are many possible reasons for a server crash and numerous different courses of action that might need to be taken. It's far better that a member of staff is there to check what happened and use their best judgment as to what to do.
