Hey for DK's, would it make a big difference if I maxed spear crusher and spear fury? I don't really like the idea of switching weapons to mob and boss...
Unfortunately, that's the optional build for Dragon/Dark Knights to train efficiently. The crushing animation with the spear makes damage more unstable than it already is so divvying your skill points to the correct skill in recommended.
for dks, I was wondering if you could just go ahead and max dragon's blood instead of sacrafice? I know that its useless while bossing and cancels out att pots, but wouldn't it be helpful for training if you aren't using apples? also, the guide says that sacrafice is helpful to get into zerk range, but it still takes hp regardless of its level right? thanks
You could use it during normal training but It's not recommended as basically any att pot will give you a higher att+. Even the Warrior Potions which are 5000 Mesos each give the same att as maxed Dragons's Blood. You are right about sacrifice tough, I'd say leave it at a lower level because it will take more hp, it's not really useful if it only takes like 1k hp.
This and Dragon's Roar does the trick pretty well. Both of those skills are very subpar so pick which ever skill you feel will benefit you more. Most Dark Knights I know of don't even use those two skills anymore.
I've got a question about Dragon Roar and I can't find a satisfactory answer elsewhere. What is the strength modifier on it? Does it depend on if you're using a spear or a pole arm? From what I can tell it should be hitting for just slightly less than pole arm Fury (4% less damage, 240%/250%), but it seems to be quite a bit less damage. Combined with the extremely slow speed of Roar, I feel like even with 15 targets to hit Fury actually kills them all faster. Is Roar really just a flashy way to drop 30% HP?
@RazumDar I belive this is because fury (PA) hits harder because of the swign animation modifier on polearms makes it hit harder than the 250% while dragon roar is a "spell"/magic attack so to speak and wouldnt benefit from either PA or Spear modifier
My take on it is that it's neither considered a swing or a stab. It's probably considered it's own attack and thus not very stable. I remember this being a viable option to train with Onyx Apples in similar old school servers, but I'd probably test that before reaching any conclusion.
What an in depth and detailed guide! Quick question regarding Page's, is there anything wrong with maxing Threaten over the alternate weapon mastery/booster if you're set on using only 1 type of weapon?
I would suggest changing the Fighter skillbuild slightly, since booster max and Rage are pretty much useless (both Powerguard and Combo Attack last 100 seconds, to it's easy to get by with a 100sec booster with a macro). You can then max both masteries (which is very useful if you ever come by a better axe than a sword, possibly with the new source's items). The warrior elixir from NLC will always beat Rage, and you can then still have 16/15 in both weapon boosters.
Personally, I never intend to use swords, so I maxed Threaten and then continued to max my unmaxed 1st job skills, since they were more useful or at least just as useless as all other 2nd job skills. Especially since we might get a buff in the new source where Threaten will work on bosses, I'd suggest maximg it.
I am a Lvl135 Hero and i am still maxing ACA but in you skill build of 4th job of Hero it says that after this skill i have to max Power Stance but i have adquired Enrage skill, this skill temporarily increases the attacking ability by using up the 10 combo counters. So i don't know if i max Enrage before Power stance for better DMG or what you guys think?
Enrage sucks. I'm level 200 and I haven't even started the quest for it yet. edit: also, stance is like the best thing ever
I have Brandish lvl 30, Rush lvl 1 and i am maxing ACA atm, the question is after this what i have to max to have a good skill build cause i train alone in ToT
