I'm not talking about the discussion of moving to v83... I'm talking about discussions after the wipe to just implement e.g. Malaysia.
Magatia came out in v63, one version after the one we're playing on. To compare, ToT came out in v72, Malaysia in v77, and Ulu City not till v91. Just a few versions before the dreaded Big Bang... Personally I'd want Magatia over any of these, it was one of my favorite places in the Maple world and provides many grinding spots for the 65-90 levels. ToT is nice for high level content and Scar/Targa are fun but I have no idea why Ulu was ever even considered. The only reason anyone went there was for Krexel, and even then no one cared about it... ToT provides plenty of high level content without needed to add Ulu...
I never used Magatia much for training on gMS, because all 3 characters I had were Lv100+. I dont see how it would take away nostalgic feelings though; as Rob pointed out, it's v63 and would add variety to the training spots of 2nd and 3rd Jobbers.
In eMS I started to main an Aran, which is why Magatia is so nostalgic for me. I trained there from 20-75. (excluding some MP3)
Yeah I'm surprised Ulu City is coming. I don't think there has been any resistance to magatia. It's just that ToT had to come first as higher level players really need it.
I would like to see Malaysia open to players to use as well. It would open up more training spots and could make more alternatives to training rather than just GS2 and MP3. With the server growing in size, more available training spots is exactly what we need!
I'm all for it, Targa is no joke. He hits hard as heck and with that spam stun attack of his he wont be be easy to get past. Besides you need to hp wash a lot just to be able to tank these bosses. Getting hit with 7.9-8.2k dmg is rough.
I agree with everything said about the gain being a bit OP for mages, but also, you can reduce the drops given from galloperas (i highly doubt thats correct). As far as scar/tar go, the hats given by them (do they exist in 62?) are very good in comparison to the zhelms, and if the staff decided on this I'd suggest they work on a form of chaos zakum, the way Arcane did before GMS implemented chaos bosses. Of course, I haven't looked into v62 all that much in the past few years, do these maps exist in v62? These mobs? If not, you're talking about adding them in via wz edits, which a lot of the nostalgic players feel indefinitely ruin the point of v62.
I dont know if I should open a new suggestion thread or just post it here. Topicwise I would prefer Magatia over Malaysia. Other things I suggest: Owl of Minerva(love) A casual shop NPC in FM. Just to recharge, repot and sell crap. I liked Gaga during the birthday event. Fast to get back to Victoria Island. ^^ Maybe this event map could stay open with random (multiple?) boss spawns every now and then... randomly! Dojo. With belts would be even nicer! Maybe an expert version available with 2 monsters instead of 1! Monster invading town event. Was laggy as hell back in GMS! Now I may enjoy it a little bit more! More suggestions coming...
Well it's only 7.9k-8.2k if it's touch dmg. That's why we have rushers. The stun isn't really much of a problem since there's holy shield. It's annoying, but it's not that bad with holy shield. The only struggle I see is the boss using cancel weapon attack/magic attack buff. I'm not against the implementation of the boss if there's a drop rate and helmet slot decrease. But it's not super hard to find a rusher and a bishop in a party. Comparing with zakum's struggle of course.
I think that suggesting nerfing new content is a dumb concept. Post Big-Bang stuff can be nerfed(A LOT OF NERF) and be a part of the server,but that's not why we're playing this server. At least not me. There are a lot of stuff that'll fit nicely,but take nostalgia into consideration,REAL nostalgia!
Wild Cargos in Wild Cargo Area spawn very slow, while Cold Eyes spawn like crazy. I wish they would change spots, otherwise it could renamed in 'Cold Eyes Area'.
You don't know how much I would love this if Magatia was to be implemented. I have so many memories (in GMS and in numerous private servers) grinding at Neo Huroids with friends and guildies. It would provide an alternate to Ghost Ship 2 for many players as well.
