Suggestion: Make item drop unlootable by pet if a summon skill has dealt 90% or more of the total hp of the mob, instead of the current system of "if summon last hits, item become unpickable by pet". recently, in LHC, mages that cleared mobs with only mage attacks recieved a drop penalty. it started as a kill check, but was changed to 90% damage dealt. can we use this same ruling for summon spells with pet loot logic? After the change to pet looting with summon skills was made, people kept using it for semi afk farming (despite them being the main target of the nerf), but the place that was negativity affected from it more was in normal grinding. If the summon is not the one that solos the mob, why should the loot be locked out of autoloot? it just discourages using summons in grinding
mostly in general, If summons aren't used as the sole damage dealer, then pet pickup will work. i just used LHC's recent changes as an example on how to implement it
I second this idea. For those who didn't notice, it seems like the anti-afk-loot mechanisms are designed so that if the summon "last hit" the mob, the pet won't loot its drops, rather than by "determining how much damage the summon had dealt to the mob". This mechanism is slightly annoying when I'm doing daily pap on sair. I usually cast octopus when pap goes to sleep for extra damage. It's funny how whenever my octopus last hit pap, my pets just sit there and watch me loot the drops myself...
I assume its code-wise much less expensive to simply check for last hit instead of keeping track of the % of dmg dealt. % of dmg dealt is probably only recorded per player and not separated further? However last hit is obviously recordable. I just assume its easier to check for last hit than % of dmg dealt when it comes to summons? Other than that I would like to second OPs feedback as well.
That's what I thought initially as well, but it's clearly doable once I saw the change they did to mages in LHC. I wouldn't have suggested it otherwise . If they can tell between an ultimate damage source and a non ultimate damage source, and determin it dealt 90% of the damage to the mob, then why not summons, which are technically also skills?
it's been half a year, i still think the pet pickup from summons is awkward in its current state, so... bump (also edited main post to be a bit more clear)
While we're at it, make it so Gaviotia doesn't count as a "summon" at all for autoloot. For obvious reasons
