People with a normal life, a job, and responsibilities should have at least 30 minutes to spare each day. If you don't, then you don't have a normal life and should probably not be thinking about playing games at all.
It's admittedly kinda annoying for someone who works a 9-5 since the 6 hour time limit basically means I get to complete the event only once daily, but there is a weekend even for people who won't have Thursday/Friday off. You should be able to *just* sneak in the 10 required for the ring even only doing it once daily.
Matt, 30 mins today gave me 2 flours of which I could only loot 1. I tried this event today for the first time and I will try it at least once more to see if it's as bad as my first try. I don't make time to give my feedback to troll, I do that in other threads more suitable for that. My honest opinion is that this event is biased and unfair towards the working adult with adult responsibilities and since you want to cater that group you should take notice when you get feedback about it. It's not that uncommon for someone to work 50-60h/week...
That does seem pretty unlucky to me. Maybe somebody else can share their experience with pies since we raised the rates of the drops a couple of days ago (Yes, we do listen to feedback).
The drop rate seems pretty ridiculous to me. Got all four ingredients from one mob, but idk what the spawn rate is like off maple island. Spoiler: .
Takes me around 5-20 minutes depending on how lucky I get with drops. I don't feel that part is a problem after they raised the rates.
My personal opinion is that unless you're willing to buy / trade hat pieces in the FM - this event is pure luck and based on a RNG reward system. You are only able to complete the quest once every 6 hours - that's 4x per day under the BEST circumstances. Anyone working full time / other life obligations is going to get 1-2 completions at the most on a regular daily basis. Once you complete the quest, you aren't even guaranteed a hat piece, and if you do get one there is nothing stopping it from being a duplicate. Given the short time frame of this event (I'm assuming to ensure it's finished up so Christmas ones may begin on time) I feel the likely-hood of getting a hat by participating in the event alone and not trading others very unlikely. Unrealistic, but best case scenario: 4 completions x 14 days = 56 chances to get each unique hat piece. More realistic: 2 completions x 14 days = 28 chances to get each unique hat piece. I know you can trade and buy, however I don't recall any events in GMS where this was an almost required step. Most GMS events just required you to grind it out for a long ass time to get your rewards I'm quite busy at the moment, so I'm honestly not putting an immense amount of effort into this quest, as I don't think it's possible for me to acquire the end goal item. I also think it may be a little too late for the event to be remedied this year, but just something to perhaps keep in mind for the future.
This is interesting to me because I was under the assumption that the ring was the item that most people were worried about not getting. The hat in my opinion is like a bonus item that you may be able to get without even doing the quest and instead by buying or trading hat pieces with other players, but if you end up not being able to get it through the quest, that option is always available. In fact, hat piece prices are already getting to an affordable price for most players*. *they were the last time I checked by using an owl, anyway.
Seems fine for me right now, training at himes. After each turn in i'll get another 4 ingredients for my next within an hour of training.
Yeah, I mean i'm not saying you can't go buy the pieces at an affordable price, but I don't think you should HAVE to. I feel that the purpose of an event is to participate in order to work for your reward, not to have to just get lucky enough to obtain it or purchase pieces from other players... I dunno.. Events in GMS just always felt very solo-obtainable. I'm won't have time to get the ring either, however that's due to my schedule - I think the ring is obtainable under normal circumstances and is fine as is (you only need to complete the quest once a day for 10 days).
It's because the hat is a far better item. The ring is nice because it fills a unique slot, but with only +1 all stats. Ho-hum. A potential 6 atk hat on the other hand with an additional +10 all stats? The weapon attack bonus is huge. Weapon attack is the most important stat for all classes, and for Night Lords it's insanely important. It's varying in its value since it depends on your total stats currently, but a rough estimate, a 6 atk +10 all stats hat is worth around the equivalent of a +40 main stat zakum helmet. And you can't scroll helmets for LUK, so imagine what this means to a Night Lord. So basically, near a perfected zakum helmet, only for the event hat you have to get lucky on one slot instead of working a grueling amount towards 10.
We've had many events in the past which required some sort of luck to get items. Nexon also has had events which required luck or sometimes even real money to get specific event rewards (e.g. Hot Time events, Silver/Gold box events etc). In this instance we made sure to keep the hat pieces tradable so that those that do get unlucky with the exchanging can still get the Pilgrim Hat if they are missing any pieces. The hat by default is not an end-game item and does require a ton of luck to become one, compared to the ring which does require effort put into the event for a guaranteed current end-game item.
Please tell me where you're farming with these sort of timeframes I spend about 3 to 4 hours to obtain all 4 drops in each of my past 2 days; admittedly, with my HP warrior (woohoo 4 STR 4 DEX) I only have access to low level mobs, but I believe spawn and drop rates aren't stifled with low level mobs right?
Henesys Hunting Grounds 2, Kerning Subway (Wraiths), Ghost Ship 2. There's plenty of really high spawn maps where you can get them pretty quickly.
Damn son, your suggestions are bomb, thanks! Also, today happens to be my first encounter with the pie monster that drops all 4 ingredients lol
I tried HHG2 and I got the items for my Bishop in about 20~30 mins. Haven't tried it on any other char so far so I don't know how long that will take but good suggestions it seems! Even though I don't like how this event is set up, it shouldn't take away from the effort the GM team put in to create this (and other) event(s)! I haven't talked to any GMs about this outside this thread but I would like to apologize if I offended anyone or if I sadden someone with my previous statements. By now most of you know my intentions are always good but my wording and phrasing isn't always the best. Good intentions are not a valid excuse for harsh words and I will continue working on it. + Opinions - Negativity
Due to the recent downtime to Server Checks, we will be extending the event by 1 day. The event will now end on Monday 7th December at 23:59 Server Time (GMT).
