Sorry, petty wasnt even close to being the correct describing word but I can't think of a correct one. I think you're reasonable for how you responding to the joking about a serius issue. Been too exhausted and burnt out lately and my ability to choose words for things has majorly suffered! So please don't take this personally!

if you talking about the way i play (enjoying the game's storyline and picking up rng loot), then yes that "When I play football, I love the thrill of picking up the ball with my hands and throwing it into the goal." is analogous

So, the analogy you are looking for is, "messi transferring me all his football skills without me working for it", then i enjoy the apex of football games. While this transference of skill to me without any effort on my part would incur the wrath/envy/jealousy of many football fans, it is not against any current football rules. (World cup regulations can naturally be changed to stop such a thing if it were ever possible with technology)

Of cos, if you were to bring back the context to mapleroyals, then it is against (cite the correct rule in T&C).

This response wasn't a smart one because the logic and subject used in the analogy didnt truly follow the original situation.

i dont intend to play hardcore maple anymore; i'm only looking for a less effort way to get nice gears to clear bosses faster while being able to focus 99.999% of my time and energy in other things of my life

I know what i posted can be triggering for those who grinded really hard for their gears and levelled their chars. I too levelled an I/L and NL from 1 - 200, with 30k hp wash. and it would be triggering if someone can just get 30khp without any effort. but hey, what's so bad about someone enjoying the game with dope stats without going through the same hell i did? unless the purpose of the game isnt to enjoy it, but something else such as attachment to gears and chars by spending significant amounts of time?

After calculating the time spent, and effort, i'm at a state where can players enjoy the game with
A) less time spent on maple and more time spent on other things in life, especially for working individuals
B) casual players (1hr) players making decent progress (how is someone playing an hour a day going to make a perf weapon? probably possible in 5 years of consistent voting?)

 

Different people find different things fun, and these aren't always compatible with one another. Unfortunately your idea of fun would ruin other peoples fun. Luckily, there are multiple private servers out there. This is a fairly low EXP server, and is more suited to players like Dave.

 

I am pretty certain the correct verb for writing long walls of text when a few words are enough is 'Zofraning' (yay, I can still pick correct words sometimes!) But I legit cannot figure out how your analogy was not a good one. It seems pretty good to me. Maybe a slight improvement would be that after deciding that you enjoy picking up the ball with your hands and throwing it into the goal, you also go to the local football club's forum and start whinge-posting about how because that's how you like to play, the club should change its rules to suit just you. And then if others point out that it would ruin their fun, then just irritate them with weird and confusing walls of text.

Although I cannot figure out what you said that prompted this question.

so why not play a high rate server , you can even solo kill HT in 5 mins and solo buff every buff for yourself, more time saved for other aspect of your life

 

From how i have responded to onetwotree thus far, i have not made any personal remarks against his mental capacity or character. I kept to the facts and even provided possible explanations that better support his stance.

However, onetwotree has used terms such as "passive aggressive" when i stated facts and logic. For those who can see it, his response shows more about his character and his ability to handle conversations more than anything i can say.

Thereafter, he made an judgement about my action "doesn't make you look smart, just makes you socially retarded" which is clearly another personal attack on my intellect and emotional quotient. whereas, i havent made any remarks about him as a person. i looked at the facts that were written and addressed them to the best of my abilities

Not only is his response rude, it has received support from some people from the royaller's generally kind community

From his first response, and second response, people can clearly see who is being "passive aggressive" and disrespectful. Also, if i may point out, just because this is a high stakes issues, it doesnt give anyone the right to be rude or disrespectful when handling a different perspective. unless you think that anyone can be rude to everyone as long as he/she feels offended?

I will stop responding to onetwotree because of his own actions that makes me feel unsafe in having a cordial and reasonable conversation. I hope he will not be rude, and even if he thinks people are truly socially retarded, he will have the human decency to refrain from publicly insulting people in the future.

 

yea, that is the more reasonable step for me to take. as much as i love royals and have played on this server since 8 years ago, i cannot expect the server to change its nostalgia style (which was why i joined in the first place). i will head to another serve that can support my pace of life

Although i am supportive of a different stance from Dave, thank you Dave for being reasonable to have a factual discussion without making personal attacks on people, keeping the conversation cordial and choosing to exit when you believe the conversation is no longer meaningful for you to continue.

You and those like you will make the forum a healthy place to discuss different perspective without the intent to emotionally hurt people in the process. I appreciate your maturity and how you handled the conversations thus far. peace out

 

My views do not align with yours w.r.t the matter you addressed above but again, its a subjective issue. Different people have different ideas of fun. Some players come back for nostalgia, some players enjoy meeting friends and some players enjoy going bossing and grinding. For this server, they believe in the grind though its already at elevated levels with the exp and drop rate boost.

All I can say is that your pov is not wrong. You would thrive better in a different server who bears the same idealogy as you. Perhaps a server who is meant for players to destress by killing bosses fast with quick ways to get end game gears. I sincerely hope you find one that suits you. If not, you can just come back to Royals. Other servers suck tbh.

Also, I would like to apologize if you felt attacked in any way by people on the forums. I am sure they do not mean any harm. From my experience, they are struggling a lot irl and use this game as a means of escape thus the aggression. I hope you can be understanding and treat this incident as an anomaly. Most of Royallers are actually nice decent people like Dave.

But I'm talking about you generalizing and suggesting that people on this forum struggle IRL and take out their anger on others.

I think you are trying to paint a picture of you being successful and above this community, and that's simply it.
