IGN: Toerist Problem: Guild leader banned, request to preserve guild Details: Our guild leader has been banned (https://royals.ms/forum/threads/256445/#post-1609436), which means the guild will effectively disappear unless something can be done. Dutchies is an active guild with around 160 members and plays an important role in the already small Dutch community. If possible, I’d like to request transferring leadership to my character Toerist, or any alternative solution that allows the guild to continue without losing all members. I understand that in the past this hasn’t been possible, but I don’t see a clear reason why it couldn’t be considered in this or similar situations. The actions of one individual shouldn’t result in the loss of an entire guild and community. We’ve built a strong and friendly group, including a well-established alliance, and it would be a shame to lose that. We’re not trying to bypass the rules, but to preserve an active community that has taken a long time to build.
Hi, We understand your concern about preserving the guild. However, we regret to inform you that we are unable to proceed with transferring guild ownership, as doing so would introduce several complications: We are unable to obtain confirmation from every guild member before selecting a Jr. Master or member to assume leadership. We are also not in a position to decide on behalf of the guild in cases where multiple members may request the Guild Master role. We recognize that losing a guild leader permanently is unfortunate, and it is not something we would like to see. However, due to the reasons above, we are unable to transfer guilds on behalf of players. On a personal note, I would like to share a relevant experience from my time in game customer support. In another game, guild ownership was automatically transferred if the leader was inactive for 15 days, passing to the next member who logged in. While this ensured that guilds remained active, it also created new issues - players frequently reported losing their guild ownership due to circumstances such as extended travel or being unable to access their accounts. In practice, such systems tend to solve one problem while introducing others. Staff are always open to feedback. If you have suggestions on how situations like this (e.g. guilds becoming inactive due to a permanently absent leader) could be handled fairly, you are welcome to submit them through the Feedback section. https://royals.ms/forum/forums/feedback.3/
Thanks for the detailed response. I understand the concerns you mentioned, especially around verifying members and avoiding situations where staff would need to choose between multiple candidates. In cases like this, where the Guild Master is permanently banned and there is a clear and verifiable preference from the Guild Master, it seems like a relatively safe exception without introducing the issues you described. I’ve also created a feedback thread with a suggested approach for similar situations in the future: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/guild-leadership-transfer-in-case-of-permanent-ban.257058/ Appreciate you taking the time to consider this.
Hi, Thank you for submitting the feedback. Staff will monitor the thread and review any additional input, concerns, or suggestions from the community before following up further on this matter. Thank you.
