You can call me Ed. I graduated after Spring 14. I majored in philosophy. How's your major treating you? I imagine that it can be harsh at times. A friend of mine is double majoring econ/stat and he is always stressed out about his workload.

Yea, the curve can definitely be brutal to your GPA lol. But it is what it is, the curve keeps grade inflation down and grad schools respect that. I personally appreciate the Cal environment. I believe it nurtures success for students that possess the drive to obtain it. Cal definitely is not a good fit for some type of people, but if you are ambitious and you put in the work, then Cal will open up many worthwhile opportunities.

On a separate note, yes the city of Berkeley is not as developed and clean as other college cities, but as a result the city offers a unique life experience to its occupants. Also, being close to SF is a huge perk, fist bump @Ashlee XD.

There were many times when I questioned my decision to come to Berkeley, but in the end I'm glad I did because Berkeley fostered valuable personal/professional growth within me. I hope that when you graduate from Cal, you will leave stronger than when you came in.
