      • These monsters range from level 125 to 152.
    • Tweaked the Auf Haven battle:
Auf Haven, arguably the toughest Boss monster in the game. Or is it? That’s the question that the community and the Staff alike have been trying to answer since the initial release. In this patch, after exploring various possible game mechanics, we’ve tried to address several community concerns and proposals with the ultimate goal of improving this Boss fight both from a gameplay-perspective, but also to put it in a better spot as a truly worthy enemy.

After this patch, Auf Haven herself will be tougher, sporting about 40% more HP than before. We made this change because we found that the first phase of the Auf Haven fight was comparatively harmless, and rather felt as an EXP-piñata. Core Blaze and Royal Guard retain their old HP values, as these bosses (Core Blaze in particular) pose a real challenge to some classes, that we wish to preserve.

One major issue that we have tried to address is that of the "optimal party composition", which previously relied heavily on the use of a Buccaneer to pin the boss, whilst ranged character, typically Night Lords, sniped from afar. By bolstering the HP values of Auf Haven's summons, as well as making 2 out of 3 spawn on the floor rather than in the air, we aim to introduce minor difficulties for certain classes and allow other classes, melee ones in particular, to shine. With this change, we are enabling Buccaneer's Snatch skill, as well as enabling all Warriors' Monster Magnet to be used on Boss monsters, in order to better control the engagement.

Last, but not least, when Auf Haven falls below 20% of her MaxHP, she will turn truly dangerous, as she can begin to cast Left-Seduce. This seduce has a longer cooldown than the traditional Right-Seduce, but its duration remains the same. This phase proves particularly difficult for melee characters, and once again allows the ranged component of the party to flex their muscles.

We intend for these changes to harmonize with different classes' toolkits, in order to better promote diversity.
      • Auf Haven’s MaxHP has been increased from 430,000,000 to 600,000,000 HP.
      • Cursed Auf Haven (phase 1) has had its MaxHP reduced from 180,000,000 to 20,000,000 HP.
      • Summoned Auf Havens’ MaxHP increased from 10,000,000 to 20,000,000 HP.
      • Moved the same proportion of EXP from Cursed Auf Haven to Auf Haven to account for the changes above.
      • Summoned Auf Havens will appear at 70%/50%/30% of Auf Haven’s HP, instead of at 50%/40%/30%.
      • Some of the Summoned Auf Havens will now spawn at floor-level, rather than in the air.
      • Auf Haven will now begin to cast Left-Seduce at 90 second intervals when she falls below 20% HP. Players will receive a notification when this threshold is hit.
      • Auf Haven will now drop up to 3 Auf Haven’s Circlets at a time.
    • Changed the Book Ghost to be Holy-weak and Undead.
    • Slightly altered the hitbox of Horntail’s Right Hand.
    Quest:
    • Added 23 new quests as part of Lionheart Castle.
      • These quests are available from level 135 and up. Not all quests will be available with this patch.
    • Changed the questline “The Stones of Reality” to be more intuitive and user-friendly.

    Skill:
    • Warrior’s Monster Magnet can now be used on Bosses.
This change arrives early due to its synergy with the changes made to the Auf Haven bossfight. A vast slew of skill changes are being prepared, and while we had originally intended to release all of them at once, we made an exception for this skill so that players could enjoy the reworked Auf Haven battle now rather than later. Further skill changes will most likely arrive with the next Update.

This skill change further cements Warriors as the force on the battlefield which controls the direction of the battle. Warriors now have another tool for hard crowd control in their toolkit. Do note that it only works on Bosses which can move.
    • Some skills (such as Meso Guard) have had their descriptions reworked to better and correctly explain their effects.

    Misc.:
    • Added further improvements to the GM alert system.
    • Added a new Party Loot system unique to Lionheart Castle.
    • Added a new Bonus Party EXP system unique to Lionheart Castle.
The new Bonus Party EXP system functions in a similar way to the other system (introduced last year), wherein party members are considered “active” by the game if they fulfill some criteria. In Lionheart Castle, you have to attack monsters every 5 seconds in order to be considered active.

For each active party member, an extra 50% of the monster’s base EXP will be granted to all active party members in the map, when the monster is killed. This does not stack with EXP-modifiers such as Holy Symbol or Taunt.

Do note that these numbers constitute the initial release balancing that we have arrived at after internal testing. In Lionheart Castle, we wish to promote larger parties, and have balanced the EXP gain accordingly. Players who take on the area in smaller groups may find that the rewards are not too exciting!
    • Added a new Time-Limited Raid system unique to Lionheart Castle.
The new system limits how long any given character can spend within any of the Lionheart Castle maps (with the exceptions of the towers and the boss instance maps). When the timer runs out after 60 minutes, the character will be warped to a location outside of the castle, and will not be able to enter again until the next day. The timer resets at midnight, server-time. Do note that each character has its own timer, bound to that character. This means that a party of players may all have different timers and thus be warped out at different times. It also means that you can enter or exit Lionheart Castle as many times as you want until your time has elapsed.

We chose to restrict the area for reasons similar to why we restrict the number of times you can participate in boss expeditions; to promote a diversity of content, to put a boundary on the rewards you can reap from a given expedition on a single character, and to make the daily Lionheart Castle grind less of a daunting task. Since this is a new system, we will be carefully monitoring your feedback, and make adjustments as we see necessary.
    • Changed the way monster buffs and debuffs work. Now the icon and chatbox message pertaining to the debuff will arrive at the same time as the effects of the debuff itself.
Since the launch of the new source, monster buffs and debuffs were applied in a GMS-like fashion, meaning that the debuff itself was applied immediately at the start of the mob’s skill animation, but the icon above the player head, as well as the chatbox message informing the player that they have been debuffed, arrived at the end of the mob’s skill animation. This system, while authentic, caused confusion as players found themselves unable to attack, missing, or forcibly walking, before they had even been informed that they were sealed, in a state of darkness, or seduced. We have gone against GMS and made everything related to the debuff apply immediately, at the start of the mob’s skill animation. Unfortunately we are unable to apply these things at the end of the skill animation, due to how the client sends information to the server, and issues with latency and skills becoming out of sync. Do note that mob skills pertaining to buffing other nearby monsters remain delayed for aesthetic purposes.
    • Changed the descriptions of many of the monsters in the Monster Book (particularly the bosses) and added a uniform format, as well as corrected various inaccuracies and inconsistencies to the elemental vulnerabilities, resistances and immunities.
    • Major preparations for further upcoming seasonal events.

    Happy Mapling!
