Update check failed: WinHttpSendRequest failed

hi ! i tried the nov 23 files , i could give it another try just in case and ill come back to let u know if there was a difference

 

I tried to read through this thread and unless I missed it somehow, the solution isnt mentioned here.
Just enable file extensions, then rename mr.dll to mr.exe and run the exe.
For the 2 people that I know who had this problem it solved it immediately.

But mr.dll is the actual execution file and mapleroyals.exe is just the updater.
This does no harm, but lets people with this issue or people with windows 7 play the game, where otherwise they could'nt
Why would a harmless thing like this get people banned?

Clarification: I didn't do this myself, its just a solution my friend saw and suggested to try and see if it lets those people can open the game.

If it's confirmed not to be allowed, i will tell those people to revert it, but it will also mean they won't be able to play for how long it takes you to fix this.

Could you clarify if this can be used as a temporary solution? @Matt

I have no idea, I downloaded and installed the 23rd just to be sure and same error.

 

I guess mine does that too! Can you tell me how to shut it down?

 

Found a workaround, at least on my Win 10, Bitdefender.

1. TURN OFF Anti-virus when installing the 11.23.2023 Mapleroyals client installer. Otherwise, your antivirus might block something (as it did mine).

2. Turn off antivirus when first launching the game. Exit.

3. Add Mapleroyals.exe and mr.dll in Bitdefender to "Exceptions" and enable all 3 exceptions - Antivirus, Online Threat Protection, and Advanced Threat Defence.

It's not a permanent solution in the long run, but it'll allow you to launch MapleRoyals.exe in your installation folder for now.

I hope the devs can fix this.

 

Can someone help me .22th Update my royals shows that "check failed: WinHttpSendRequest failed". 23th Update my royals no respond totally

 

ok so i retried it again just to make sure and still the same outcome ;( but this time i dont get any message error it just simply " runs" the game on the tasks window for a few seconds but nothing happens and then the process just dissapears after a few seconds later F4F4F4F

 

with the last client setup-update the [Update check failed: WinHttpSendRequest failed] turned to -> ["MapleRoyals has stopped working] or no error at all just closes

can we just get the old client and update with the events like all the years before?then let us test the changes on 2nd/private server or something instead of straight to live-main?
why so much push on this changes (especially while there are rumors of missing dev's from the team)and on top of that get a pile of new bugs to be fixed instead of working on new events and so =(

the wait and trouble to go thro so much changes each time is just so frustrating and no worthy
so again please give us the old client (the last most stable-working client)

 

i looked though both my anti-viris (avast) and windows firewalls and i can't find anything saying MapleRoyals is being blocked, i also already went ahead and made MapleRoyals an exception for it. Still "unable to find update info"
