Event Valentines Boss Event

Thank you for the Valentine event.

 

I didn't get a present again. I was told that I will get one when I'm hitting it as a lukless mage, even if I miss on him. Btw, I tried to attack it with a valentine rose.

 

try partying with some1 who has a fast ranged attack, helped my mage a lot ^^

 

So will it affect my own drop, if I'm partying with someone who deals dmg?

 

I'm a lukless mage hitting with my Ele Wand and getting presents, so you shouldn't have a problem!

 

I've tried it with a party now and it finally worked. Thanks @Demiosu. I'll probably try it without a party again later that day.

 

How are you guys staying online? I've got a brand new computer and I still lag out each time I go near the Slime. - -;

While your in game go to system options turn your graphics all the way down. And press alt+ enter at same time to minimize screen.

I have no issues getting through event doing this xD

 

Is there any way that you guys stop doing these types of events in the future? I'd like to participate, however my computers lags a lot when there are that many people on the same map. And i'm sure I'm not the only one.

An alternative would be making monsters drop a rare untradeable etc item, which can then be traded in for reward such as the ring.

 

Updated the first post to reflect some changes in the event - the boss will now spawn on channel 1 instead of channel 3, and as you probably already know, you can only use basic/regular attack to hit him with.

 

May I suggest adding an option which rewards people who have turned in enough gifts in total with a ring? Kind of like with the Rudolph Nose event.

I have a feeling there will be some players out there who won't be able to get their hands on one, despite efforts, otherwise.

I went the whole snowman event without ever getting a Baby Jack Frost chair. I fear it'll happen again.

 

I don't know the drop rate for it, but I just had my sixth run on this boss and got my second ring. Perhaps I simply had luck, but for me it does not seem to be impossible to get one. However it could be a good idea for people not having that much luck.

 

I believe they made the rate of getting the ring a lot easier than getting a red socks during the Christmas event last december just so that most people who try once or twice daily should be able to get it. Well of course as long as the rewards are based on a certain rate there's bound to be a handful that may not get a ring despite trying daily even (pure unluckiness). I managed to get a ring on one of my characters so far though (I didn't get a red socks previously despite trying multiple snowman runs daily last month. But of course that's tradeable while this ring isn't, making it more exclusive)

I'd like to clarify something else though, is it intentional that some players are able to get 2 or even 3 romantic presents within 1 slime's defeat? I don't mean having double or triple clients, but within just 1 character itself. I've had friends who've gotten 2, also even when we're in the same party one player gets 2 while the other gets 1.

 

I got 3 presents on my main and 2 on my mule without doing anything special as far as I know.

Great job optimizing the code. Whatever you guys did, maple doesn't freeze anymore when I'm next to the boss!

however, the game does rarely just crash with no error msg. I'll be profiling from now on to see what's going on right before it crashes.
