I'm sub 135 in terms of level. I would like to know what your method is for making that kind of money and how long it takes to do it everyday. So far, I've just been NPCing stuff for the most part.

If everybody released their merching/scrolling methods they wouldn't be doing anybody a favor including themselves. There is plenty of information on the forums as to how to get started on this server, but if you decide not to equip yourself with the proper tools (ie a farming mage) don't be shocked when you can't compete with those who do.

Illes claims to be a lv 50 bandit with no mage characters. I'm just curious how he makes so much money per day.

The guy is a big mercher. Always see him leaving messages in my FM 1 shops that he's buying a spot. He has an active bulk selling thread here on forums too. RWTer wouldn't work that hard to make money. I wouldn't worry. :p

I'm not worried that he is doing RWT. I'm just legit curious about his whole operation. But I guess I'll do my research on forums then :)

You can definitely make more than 25-35m/hour without selling AP Resets or selling leech as a mage/bishop.

You should look into getting your char to level 135+. If you are tired of making money now, it's because your character isn't strong enough to kill higher level monsters that drop equips and weapons that can be npc-ed for more money. Because of this, you're basically not using your time efficiently enough. If you are tired of training, try to leech. You can make the money back when you are in 4th job.

Then get yourself to those maps with monsters that drop valuable equips and/or weapons e.g. clean concertos, red pirate skirts/pants. If you find a blue clean equip/weapon (depending on which class it is), you can sell them for a lot of mesos. And don't forget that you'll still make a good amount of mesos just by NPCing the other equips & weapons.

Some other stuff that you can sell just by hunting:
    • Orbis Rock scrolls: This is no longer the case; teleport rocks just came out. Before that, they sold for 3m each, which was great to sell for
    • Golden Teeth
    • Orbis ETC needed for low level exp: Zombies are good ofc, but dont forget bains which btw drop lvl 80 pirate overalls that some corsairs need, and red pirate pants/top
    • ETC needed for Silver mane quest
    • Soiled Rags: This etc is needed for the deputy star quest. Lots of people don't want the trouble of hunting elderwraiths
    • Secret Scroll: This is needed for the 4th job quest. Lots of people don't want to go down the eos tower

When I hop onto gtop100 to vote, if you check out the amount of votes that come in on a daily basis, there's a consistent 6k+ votes that come in on a daily basis. Before the implementation of the AP reset level requirement, a consistent 8k-9k+ votes. When I hop on the Royals homepage, there's only about 1500+ AT MOST online daily. During this past Summer, when I first started, it was at a constant 1300+ players online average. Using very basic mathematics one could say that every player on this server votes at least 5-9 times even though we're only allowed ONE vote per household, even two votes is breaking the rules. I'm not trying to be cynical when I say stating "most players are legitimate" is a bit naive, and saying it doesn't effect the economy much is (nothing personal) ignorant (Have you seen AP reset prices?). Even if we were to say those votes were coming from a source other than players, maybe self-banned players, maybe enthusiasts of the server who don't regularly play, maybe Royalers on a hiatus, there's still a huge difference of players in-game, and people voting. You could see how I have to stretch here just to give most players the benefit of the doubt.

Of course there are a handful of legitimate Royalers, I don't doubt that. I see a lot of you on the forums, I know a lot of you have put in work for years, and strive to make this game better probably since this server first came online. However, given the numbers alone, I think it's safe to assume many if not MAJORITY of players on this server have vote abused or continue to do so.

I have no evidence to substantiate my claims, only the numbers on the sites, and experiences from the community itself. For example, an ex guildmate of mine who was new to the server, still asking about ways to make money, asking for free gold teeth, within not even a month was billions richer as he had multiple scrolled facestompers. I don't know about you guys, but I've been cracking my nut for about 6 months selling leech and I still haven't amassed the amount of facestompers he had and I couldn't even fathom the amount of ws/cs he used to get them. Who am I to judge though right? Maybe a real generous Royaler helped him, maybe he somehow got lucky and made billions to invest overnight. A player I was selling leech to bragged about his 55 ws, asking me if I thought it was enough to make a perfect claw, he then proceeds to ask me what end game content this server has to offer. So you have an amount of WS tripling (pentupling?) that of the average MapleRoyals player (not talking about the entrepreneurs and hardcore grinders), yet you don't know the contents of the server you're playing in? Do you want a perfect claw to become the Henesys Hunting Grounds champ or just because it's shiny? Again, he might just be real good at making money, who knows? PUHLEEZE! I have many other experiences to recount, but it'd be too long to fit in this one reply. I'd report these people but I never had any incriminating evidence other than those suspicious statements and quick gains in wealth.

You could say given the numbers, that maybe it's a small percentage of illegitimate players are voting on masses upon masses of accounts. If you're spending time getting 100 accounts to level 50 to cheat, you're probably trying to make real money, and if that's the case, you'd probably make more money sweeping the floor of your local McDonalds and there maybe something wrong with you. Having said that, I think it's safer to assume there is a large amount of players voting on a few accounts. Again, this is all just speculation given the numbers, if you have facts that would prove my theories wrong, I would love to gain and spread knowledge on the subject.

    TL/DR
Given the number of players online, to the number of daily votes on Gtop100 I think it's safe to assume many if not MAJORITY of players are vote abusing. To be perfectly honest, I would, but I'd rather not lose everything I worked for while crying in front of my computer screen seeing Kai's savage replies to my ban appeal.

    @IzYaBoy

This time last year, the server constantly had 2k people online. A lot of them quit or are on hiatus, and quite a lot of people who quit still vote daily to gach it all when they come back for half an hour and then never log on again until they amass the next gachapon run's NX.

Yes, there are some people with massive vote abuse. The fall in voting numbers after the level 50 requirement to purchase AP Resets doesn't surprise me, since it also comes at a time where mass vote abusers are getting caught and mass banned, permanently of course.

The point is, most players are indeed legitimate. At least, visible players. The ones you see talking on forums, actually playing characters and making progress on them, grinding, chatting, making friends, whatever.

There's a minority of vote abusers with many, many characters that make dozens upon dozens, even hundreds of accounts where they vote daily, on every single account. So you can see that the 3k vote count discrepancy may very well be only 30, 50 people. Real world trade (RWT) is a big industry on Royals. Those people you're talking about who are so insanely rich in such a low amount of time, especially when they're new and they have low level characters? They're not vote abusers (usually). They're RWTers. Real world traders, the people who buy White Scrolls and Chaos Scrolls for $6 USD each, and $200-$300 USD for a 15 att PGC, 15 att FS, and so on.

Unfortunately, because of the various fuckups with the new source implementation, the old tools for catching RWTers in the past aren't there. Some are, but not all. I've reported many RWTers, but there's literally one guy who investigates these cases, maybe two now, hopefully. The burden of proof is so high to ban them, since there's so many excuses they can come up with to explain why they're so new and have this OP stuff that takes legit people years to achieve.

Vote abuse is such an mass phenomenon because of how profitable RWTing is, and there's low ban rates at the moment. I understand you simply believed that vote abuse is common and widespread, but it really is a minority that overwhelmingly engages in it. I won't point out specific examples, but maybe after you've been here for a year or so, you'll see the industry of RWT, how it works, and how a few individuals and groups go to massive lengths to turn a profit for real money, extreme vote abuse and ban evading to continue their extreme vote abuse just being one facet of it.

I've been up at all hours of the day (proud nolifer) I've been up at different times, and my observation has been this: From about 7AM-10PM (estimated) which would be the time in my timezone people are awake the number of people online is at like 1100-1500. From about 2AM onward, sometimes i forget to vote and happen to peek at the people online, it decreases to about 900-1100 people. So lets say these people are from the other timezones, this also doesn't include the few that stay on no matter what timezone you're in, so we could assume that all these 1100 people are from the different time zone, we could add that to the people from my time zone, which would be about 3700 people in total playing the game. Can we assume the other 3000+ people that are missing from the votes, the other 6000+ before the AP resets were increased to level 50, were people not online? Are there that many people voting for the royals server? Do you truly believe MapleRoyals has that much of a loyal following? Look, I'm not saying I'm right here by any stretch of the imagination, but we also can't say MAJORITY of players are legit. I haven't looked that hard into it to know it 100%, but from my observations alone I'm confident enough to make that assumption.

    @Shiyui @Buccaneer

All that being said, I see how the magnitude of the situation could be misconstrued. I guess i'll continue to make my observations and hopefully it'll prove me 100% wrong. Thanks for the feedback! =D

I think your perspective on end-game weapons might be a little extreme. A end-game weapon is something you naturally might achieve in the endgame, not something you would need to start being a respective and active bosser. People with endgame weapons are the elite. They have played for a long time, sold leech for a long time, merched for a long time, and are reaching a point in the game where progress is getting 1-2 more attack on their capes/gloves/shoes and other equips.

There is nothing wrong with getting a perfect weapon as a longterm goal, but even then, you can't expect to achieve this while planning to stay at 3rd job for months. If you want to be a strong attacker, i would suggest that you get to 4th job, and try to reach at least level 140, where you can start bossing and slowly start improving your gear :)

I'm confused... Farming don't give greater mesos over time so how does it break even after 7hours of farming when you're comparing gains per hour? (farming gains is approximately the same every hour)

Your right, farming generates consistent meso gain. The point isn't about farming fluctuating but the fact that merching fluctuates. Profit from merching is directly related to buyers buying the merchant's items. You can look for cheaper items to sell for higher for 7 hours a day, but if you do that you'll end up with way more items than you can sell in that day and your income will come to a standstill for a while. Also the longer you merch per day the faster you are forced to sell your items since you need to rotate your merchandise quickly enough to match your buying speed. And of course the faster you need to sell something the lower your price is going to have to be and as a result the profit you make on each sale is going to be that much less. I personally only merch like an hour a day at most, thus I sell my items for higher and make higher profit on each sale since I don't have to sell as many items

    TL; DR
Farming/ leeching can yield 150m per hour for as long as you can do it
    On the other hand
I can merch and easily make 400m on the first hour ,but by the fifth hour i would have a hard time making even 150m

    Example:
    Farming for 7hours:
    150m-135m-140m-150m-160m-120m-150

    Merching for 7 hours:
    400m- 300m-230m-150m-100m-50m-40m

Except the thing about merching is that its not consistent in the slightest lol, you could go days without finding good flips, so your examples really have nothing backing them besides your anecdotal bias.

I'd appreciate it if you could look at the context of where I am posting. I can write a 5 page essay on all the factors that effect merching but no one would read that so I just gave simplified examples. And while merching fluctuates a lot as you said, I never fail to make at Bare minimum 200m in the first hour of merching in a day and more often than not I can make 300m+ on most days. I have been making virtually all my mesos through merching for the near 2 years I've played in this server as I do not have a 4th job mage even at this point. After this long of merching, one can create an avg range of profit regardless of how much it may fluctuate in a single day and I have concluded that it is far more profitable than farming up to a few hours per day. If a merchant has some days where they could not even flip 100m worth of profit then I can confidently say that they have a lot of areas they can improve upon as that is never the case with me

I think you're taking it more personally - YOU yourself, yes, I'm sure you can make X amount and that works for you. Hell, I've made a retarded amount of meso not using a 4th job mage either, but I'm saying in terms of advice for newer players the "merching" advice is pretty bad, because they obviously won't be able to do it, and even if they can it won't be at consistent rate without having the starting funds - which is where the mage comes in.

It's actually not that hard, I started merhing at around level 50 on my first char, (spearman) profits were quite low in the beginning but after reaching 100m it started to multiply quite fast. I wouldn't put it as I made x amount in 1 hour though, luck varied from time to time.

I started a month before the new source and I climbed my way up flipping

    -red ciders
    -leather (turn to wg)
    -Pet speed 60%

Most people were really kind and would actually donate a lot of these 3 things for free, believe it or not the supply / demand for these items were really good. After reaching a certain amount of mesos I found better items that would fit my budget and most importantly a method of finding good stuff without having to stay in the fm spamming all day, for all those noobies reading get creative, merching SPECIALLY in royals is quite easy.

The OP wasn't referring to immediate ways to make money, he was just asking if there are any other methods regardless of lvl to eventually escape "mapleroyals minimum wage" in which case to him was something like 50m per hour. So even if merching was something that comes after a certain point or not, my point is still valid.

And I heavily disagree that merching is bad advice for newer players. People here seem to think I do something out of this world to merch successfully but it's actually really simple: know your prices, get a good fm spot, buy low and then sell high. I don't go around writing notes for every single item, as a matter of fact I only know prices of the most common items and am completely oblivious to more specific prices like Wands and spears. Just search forums for price checking and look through the fm every now and then and you will easily remember prices on some key items and that's enough. All you need to start merching is like 500m, pretty much 1 chaos scroll. Faarrrr easier than the mage alternative where you have to get to 4th job and buy a 1.3b skill book to get started wouldn't you say?
