Basically the reason I can put an x amount to it is like this:
Let's say over 3 weeks I spend 1 hour a day merching and made 3b the first week, 1b the second, and 2b during the third. That's 6b over 3 weeks so I can say I averaged 2b per week which you can then divide by the number of days and end up with about 290m per day. You can use this for longer periods of time such as 3 months instead of 3 weeks if you want and then you can come up with an average amount of profit you gain.

And you also described exactly how I personally got started except with different items, keep it up my fellow merchant 0:)

The amount you can make off merching is dependent on your net worth. There's no way you can make that much right off the bat.

I said "Let's say" which basically means "for example" in the English language. I was also referring to DanielBaniel who started like 11 months ago and not the author of the OP

The recent replies about merching are LIT tbh. Thanks y'all! I'm going to spend the next couple weeks examining items in the FM to merch. I do have enough $$$ saved up to be able to invest a couple hundred mil in some items. I might as well contribute and try it myself.

also reminder that my entire proposition [of this post] is the involvement of the game's content to make it inclusive enough for people at all job tiers to want to train at their level and explore the game while making a reasonable amount of gains that give them the incentive to keep exploring instead of simply skipping it. (aka why we prefer nostalgic 'maple(server)' over GMS, or why else would we be here rite?).

So keep my bias for that ^ in mind as you refer to some of my controversial statements bc I just wanna be sure I make myself clear throughout the duration of our dialogue xD

I doubt many people could get away with serious vote abuse for long.
    • Even if you vote on one account using your phone and the other using your computer, you'd need to make sure you always used the accounts on the correct corresponding connections or they'll obviously be linked. It is trivial for the staff to see 2 accounts played on the same IP address but voted for on different ones.
    • Just one slip up can be enough to give you away. Your accounts will now be linked in the database. Of course at this stage they could still assume it's just a friend, but they'll have their eye on you.
    • Even if you keep all your voting accounts nicely on separate IP addresses, how are you going to get your wealth and items you gain on the cheating accounts onto your main account? You'll be generating suspicious transactions, again putting attention on you.
    • Humans and computers have incredible pattern recognition abilities. I don't know how sophisticated the database analysis tools used here are, but it'd be absolutely possible to run something over some of the usage data (e.g. login/ logout/ vote/ active times) to identify interesting correlations and patterns between different accounts. For example, if there's 2 accounts that are never logged in at the same time, but are often logged in at similar times or soon after each other, that can appear to be a correlation. Or, a bunch of accounts that always seem to be voted on at the same time as each other, or in the same sequence (for those who have voteabusemule1...voteabusemule50 and go through them one by one).
    • Humans suck at being truly random with names. For each account, you need a login name and character name. Giving them similar names at all makes it easy for the GM's and admins to see patterns in those and suspect they're actually one person.
    • How on earth are you going to manage MAC addresses carefully so that you don't give yourself away from using 2 of your abuse accounts on the same MAC address? How are you going to ensure that each time you log into a particular account you're using the "correct" MAC address for that account? Using a different MAC address every time you login is also super suspicious.
In summary, good luck abusing the system with all our dedicated GM's and Admins who investigate abuse and with all the increasingly more intelligent computer tools that can assist. I have no idea what they use, but I bet they have some clever tricks.

Also, a good number of inactive players who intend to come back one day will still vote every day so that they have a nice pile of NX when they return. That will account for some of the votes.
