Make your own tier list here! Okay, here we go. This is something I have many thoughts about for no reason at all... they're literally towns. But admist all the doom and gloom this holiday season, I think it would be fun to rank the Victoria Island towns based on our personal preferences and what we care about. I'd love to see other peoples thoughts!! Hoho. My Personal Rationale: Perion S + Everything is in 1 medium-sized map. + There is an FM. + You can refine ores right to the FM entrance. + The teleport at the bottom brings you close to the FM. - It's not aesthetically pleasing, not a place you'd hang out. Henesys A + There is an FM. + Everyone hangs out here and it's a cute town. + You can buy pet food here. - It's a big ass town and can be annoying to walk around. - The town is seperated into 3 maps. Kerning B + It's central to NLC and Singapore. + There is a taxi. + Monster Carnival NPC. + Town is not too big and not separated into many maps. + Iconic and nostalgic and people hang out here in CH1. - No FM entrance. Nautilus B + There is an FM entrance. + There is a taxi. + Warp Portal to Omega Sector. - Town is separated into multiple maps. - No one comes here... Elinia C + The boat to Orbis. + Magic Seed to Leafre. - No FM. - The map is enormous and inconvenient to navigate. Lith Harbour C + There's a taxi. - No FM. - Map is gigantic. Sleepywood D - No taxi. - No FM. - Have to go into the sauna to NPC items. yes yes my favourite town is perion. i know that's weird but at least now i have explained why and can refer people to this. Nice post @bibz! Very cool ! I would like to add my own list as well. This list is mostly based on my use frequency. Any scrolls B tier and below I do not carry in my inventory. S Tier: Elinia Fastest access to Leafre and ToT, Orbis Station, Ludibrium which makes this the most used TP scroll for me; two portals near the bottom of the map to bring you quickly to the top. A Tier: Kerning City Very useful for NLC and CBD as well as cool place to chill at. Sacking newbies is mad jokes here. A Tier: Henesys Has FM and Amoria access as well as nice place to walk around and sit. Map is a bit big and FM is in a separate map which makes this town a bit inconvenient B Tier: Perion Useful FM entrance and map for GPQ door. C Tier Nautalis Cool map has FM and nice gachapon D Tier: Lith Harbour Too big of a place and not much to do D Tier: Sleepywood Very rarely need to go here and Elinia scroll + VIP taxi + return to town scroll does the trick as well which is better than this scroll taking up a USE slot

Henesys S + allot of people to chat with, The term hene hoe exists for a reason some people exist in just henesys it's their maple life. + drop parties and all dumb shit happening here + Nostalgia overload + big maps with allot of sections tons of stuff to do + allot of memes + great ost - None Kerning A ~ S- + It's central to NLC and Singapore and in the og Kerning SQuare + Nostalgia overload + Monster Carnival NPC Best PQ in the game, If there where a sport for it for fun I'd make a dedicated carnival PQ mule for fun. + allot of people here + ton of memes + godlike sack potential amusement for the middle class to rich maplers. +great ost - them JQ's fortunately the most easy JQ in them games Lith Harbour B ~ A + very relaxing + godlike ost + Looks great +very nostalgic fun place to hang around - Not much to do in terms of npc's shops etc Perion C + Efficient with allot of essential features and npc's + adventureous + fun quests - subpar ost - not allot happening here in terms of people - Dry Nautilus D + ship design is creative + decent quests - annoying to move around the map - No one comes here... not much stuff happening here - Subpar ost way to happy Sleepywood D+ + Very exciting quest lines + meme quest lines in wich you invest quite a bit but get almost nothing in return. + sauna to npc items is fun - It's a bit isolated if you got no return scrolls to civiliation your kinda *****ed although that does have it's charms aswell. - Bare minimum in terms of npc's and buildings - Some of the most horrible JQ exist in this town god have mercy Elinia Trash bottom of the barrel tier + The boat to Orbis. nostalgic moments with them balrogs etc S tier nostalgia - The map almost entirely vertical with smaller platforms and moving through here is trash tier - the music sucks - The features that are included are not usefull - hard to hang around with people here - Allot of boring quest lines - The most horrible JQ in the entire game I'd pay good meso for someone to assasinate shane I'd rather do daily ZK JQ's than to ever go back to those piece of trash JQ's Shame that other cities/ towns ain't included Elnath NLC and lubidrium are among my favourites
Rationale - mainly for someone that wants to do daily bosses and have easy access to certain areas/npcs S Tier: Ellinia Has Spinel - Access to Lushan Town (FM/Wulin Yaoseng), Showa (Anego/BG), Shrine (Toad/NT) Magic Seed to Leafre (HT/Skeles) Boat to other places (Good if you have fast pass on hand) VIP Taxi to Sleepywood Easy to navigate if you know where the NPC(s) are, there are warp portals despite the large map A Tier: Kerning City Has Spinel - Access to Lushan Town (FM/Wulin Yaoseng), Showa (Anego/BG), Shrine (Toad/NT) Can refine most ores Subway to NLC (CWKPQ/BF/Stopper Farm) Plane to Singapore (Krexel/Petris) B Tier: Perion Has Spinel - Access to Lushan Town (FM/Wulin Yaoseng), Showa (Anego/BG), Shrine (Toad/NT) Can refine most ores FM in same map GPQ (rewards aren't that great) C Tier: Henesys Has Spinel - Access to Lushan Town (FM/Wulin Yaoseng), Showa (Anego/BG), Shrine (Toad/NT) Would be higher tier if NLC Scrolls were reverted APQ - but during Valentines event you can get to Amoria via FM D Tier: Sleepywood, Nautilus Harbor, Lith Harbor Nothing really special, would not visit unless I need to for specific quest or want to Gachapon there.
Perion S Whenever I arrive to Victoria I always stay in Perion. + Most accessible FM + There's a teleport from the bottom to the top of the map which takes you close to FM. + Convenient crafting NPC next to FM + Accessible taxi, accessible storage, accessible Spinel, accessible everything. + Warrior town and therefore best town by default. + The dreadful WHITE LADY originated in Perion. - Not a gateway town to any other place. Elinia S The gateway town to the entire maple world! + Boat to Orbis. + The super convenient portal to Leafre. + The map has many teleports around it which can takes you from from top to bottom and around. + Black cab to Sleepywood, combined with a return scroll to Ellinia you can do a fast trip to Sleepywood and return back to Ellinia. - NPC placement is bad. Spinel and storage are in the middle of map. - Taxi is somewhat accessible but teleports around the map need to be utilised. - It's a hugeee vertical map. Kerning A + This town is a gateway to NLC and Singapore. + Monster Carinval and KPQ. + Always so lively! + Best place to summon a jr.Balrog. + Has a teleport that takes you from one side of the map to the other. - If you end up in the middle of the map you need to take a walk to get to taxi, storage etc. - Stupid Shumi that always loses her money!!! Henesys A My legs hurt just by thinking about Henesys. + Most iconic town in the whole of Maple World. + Always vibrant and lively. + FM portal + Gateway to Amoria. + You can acquire delicious pet food there. + Home to the one and only - Mushmom! - TOO BIG. nothing is within arm's reach. You want to go to FM, go to the middle of the town and enter another map. You want to go to the storage - same story. Taxi - well at least you can teleport from one end of the map to another. Lith Harbour C + First town you reach after Maple Island and therefore automatically gets nostalgia points. + You can reach Florina Beach from there. + There's a black cab there to Sleepywood, and with a return scroll to the town you can do a quick trip to Sleepywood and return back. - Nothing whatsoever to do there. - Whoever is responsible for the black cab being placed there should be jailed. My first ever level 10 character that I have ever created back in 2006 got stuck in Sleepywood FOREVER until this very day. Sleepywood - C + Very iconic town with very iconic monsters and a mini boss (Jr. Balrog the one and only). + Most memorable and nostalgic maps such as the ant tunnel and the famous FOG, which was the best place to grind back then. + Has the best NPC ever - The Remember! which gave us all very easy EXP at the 2x levels. - Not so accessible (though with a black cab and a town return scroll it is somewhat). - Need to go the Sauna to NPC and get pots. - No one actually goes there to grind anymore. Nautilus - D + You can gachapon there. That's it. - I hate that boat. I always get lost. - Yes.
1. Henesys (has FM, Spinel, APQ, game room, and populated in ch 1) 2. Kerning (used to go to NLC or CBD and sometimes populated in ch 1 because of KPQ and gacha) 3. Elinia (used for traveling to Orbis) 4. Perion (better version of Henesys if you want to get to fm FAST otherwise useless) Henesys #1 Kerning #2, others don't have as much detail lol. Elinia and Perion also don't have any face or hair npcs. My favorite town of all is actually Ludibrium. It seems like a happy place and I have good memories of LPQ, CPQ, clocktower, and LMPQ in GMS. Leafre is practical too in Royals end game if you HT or Skele a lot but I think the zone is boring thematically... too serious.
Kerning City (S): + Easy navigation + I like its grunginess + Transport hub (NLC, Singapore) + Cranes + KPQ + Craft work gloves here - 6/10 music but fits aesthetic very well - 1/2 of the Kerning mob maps aren’t even Kerning-themed Ellinia (A): + 8/10 music + (Royals specific) HP Quest + Interesting variety of mob maps + Ant Tunnel taxi + Orbis ferry + Can yeet yourself to Sleepywood - I hate moving around this map - I guess it fits the magic aesthetic but it’s mostly just green - NPCs for quests are hard to find Henesys (A): + 9.99/10 music (only cause Lith Harbour is strictly better) + HHG nostalgia + HPQ to get Rice Cake hats + Mushroom aesthetic is the most iconic theme in Maplestory IMO - It is the most iconic but I prefer more colourful stuff (Ludi is my favourite aesthetic) - I hate moving around here more than Ellinia even though it is strictly easier here - No one grinds at any mob map here except HHG Lith Harbour (B): + 10/10 music + Mano spawns here, get your transformation pots! + Can buy noob gear to scroll as HP gear + Florina Beach access + Matches Southperry theming which is cool - Boring theming - Not much to do here aside from quests - Putting the Ant Tunnel taxi here is a dumb idea Perion (C): + Ore refining NPC + Arwen’s Glass Shoe is the most iconic quest in MS for me (but I’ve never done it myself T_T) + Consistent aesthetic - 0/10 music - Even more uninteresting aesthetic than Lith Harbour - Getting to FM is annoying sometimes - I remember dying here a lot on GMS Sleepywood (D): + Ant Tunnel dungeon is really cool + (maybe the same as above) 24-hour store is really cool to me for some reason + (maybe the same as the first point) 2nd job advancement happens here - I don’t even know the music here - Sleepywood JQs are the worst thing in this game - Why is it that when you enter a house, you end up in a mob map Nautilus (D): + Some cool quests here, I love the idea of fixing the sub + Omega Sector access - I don’t even know the music here - I can never remember the sub layout - Doesn’t even have its own mob maps since it’s tacked on to Henesys - Wasn’t in GMS when I played
