How so? I'm really brain dead atm, can you please clarify? thank you! The only advantage I see rn is older players having more hp right?
I have no opinion on this but, with this new rules there are less votes and you said votes=server growth so that we'd effectively by cutting down our server growth by limiting the amount of votes per person. I also doubt that anyone would stop voting for NX because they have too much.
I think Daniel means because people have been able to create a new char (on a new account) and buy AP resets with mesos so that they have many AP resets immediately.
By that logic nobody should get banned for vote abuse. And reversing the decision will only result in more of that. A small minority who chose to abuse voting has ruined this for everyone who legitimately does share a house with other actual players. Direct your ire towards them, not the staff, geniuses. They're just doing the only fair thing.
Hey GMs, Sorry, I didn't check the forum announcements till this server maintenance; my brother actually just downloaded MapleRoyals today, and neither of us noticed the recent addition of the "2 votes per household" rule, so we both voted today. Is it ok if we just both skip voting for the next 24 hours to make up for that? My ign is Mango2G and my brother is BokBok. Again, sorry for the inconvenience
Another question. How does the staff plan counter people who can bounce their IP address to different computers around the world, subsequently voting on multiple accounts? An Internet browser known as ToR (The Onion Router) does exactly that, and you can refresh your IP and Mac at anytime. There are also dozens of other methods to exploit this rule. I gladly subject my account to random screening to absolve myself of any implications that I'm abusing voting. In my opinion, and experiences, it's very difficult to moderate many of these exploits.
Unless the IP you use to log into those accounts in-game is also different and unique to each account, this will not prevent you from being caught and banned. You have no experience, and you are wrong. It's more difficult to moderate exceptions than it is to enforce a rule consistently. By a long shot.
As I stated, there are methods to log in differently from the same computer in multiple accounts with a different IP. Maybe you didn't understand that, with your experience and all. I asked a question and wanted to bring something to everyone's attention, if it wasn't already. This in no way undermined anyone's experience or understanding regarding this matter. I'd like to contest your the grounds on which my experience is questionable, but I simply don't have the time or care to condone petty insults, particularly ones where belittling someone or portrayal of superiority is the objective. If a moderator can please close this thread, preventing potential harassment, it would be appreciated.
There is no "we". It is everyone to their own. People play MapleRoyals for different reasons. Not everyone plays this server because they want a nostalgic competitive experience. Last time the balance of the game shifted, a wipe was needed. If we are not careful we will find our selves in the same situation just one year after the last wipe.
This thread is here for people to discuss issues relating to vote abuse, including changes we make to the rules, therefore we will not be closing it.
I understand your point of view, even tho people play MapleRoyals for different reasons i think the majority play for the nostalgic experience as this is a ~6 years old version of the game. I might be wrong but it's what I think. Being able to get more than 8k nx /person a day could get us in the same "critical" situtaion. Admin are trying to balance the situation and I just hope that they have the right Tools to apply this new rules as accurate as possible.
Hey, "people that live in the same house will have to take turns in voting." Me and my sister both play mapleroyals, but what if I vote with my account on our internet, and if my sister connects to the neighbour's internet (lol) and votes with our neighbour's internet, is this allowed? ~Duts
