Hello. I am kind of new here so I have couple of questions. First of all, Nice to see all of you! The main thing I gonna ask is as written , what class should I take ? We are five friends and we want to come back playing maplestory again. But for long term. Sorry if I’m asking something I shouldn’t , I am a pre bigbang maplestory player, and I’ve seen a lot of stuff I already forgotten. Such as HP Wash and Leeching.is that necessary? We’re group of five veterans and we want our nostalgia back! 3. I don’t care playing the hard way. I just wanna maximize the enjoyment while playing, which means even if I need to make few characters I’ll do it in order to have a good gear and etc 4. The main to classes I was thinking about is , Hero or DarkKnight Also, Bandit and Gunslinger I would like you guys to rate them from best and above , in terms of bossing, pq’s and etc (that’s all we gonna do, as five mans, quests - pqs - bosses, and of course(!) trades!
leeching its only necesary if youre hp washing wich is almost mandatory for some classes(bm/sair/nl) just good for others. Most ppl i know may define "the hard way" as the "not enjoy thta much way" metagame here is pretty much: STEP1.- make a bish to sell leech/farm and get funded. step2.- wash an nl and buy the best gears u can for it.(still can be competitive with pretty much all the other classes..but a funded and washed nl is the best 4 shure). if u want to choose between a hero and a drk, the best choice is hero for shure...drk has a pretty tricky gamestyle, and not precicely stronger...and cant do some content as auf haven and probaly pb if it realesed someday...drk isnt bad.. but despite i main a drk myself dont recomend it to anyone... best jobs to choose Bish-Nl/BM....
When it comes to mapleroyals, I think you will find nightlord the most fun / worthwhile to play. In this version of the game, there is EXTREME imbalance between nightlord and the other classes. Nightlord inherently does more DPS than the other classes (except corsair, but thats irrelevant for reasons i will explain further down). By inherently, i mean if two classes were attacking a brick wall, nightlord would do the most damage. Now, lets add in a huge advantage of playing nightlord - shadow shifter and high avoidability. This means that whenever an enemy attacks you, it will very likely miss. This means that you will not get knocked back and can keep attacking like normal. This means that when a boss fight is a legit boss fight, nightlords still perform well. This isn't true for almost every other class who has to deal with positional problems. Now, with these two characteristics alone, nightlord is already miles ahead of all the other classes. But they also have ALCHEMIST! Alchemist is a skill that makes attack potions last 1.5x longer on nightlords. This means that every high att pot you use on a nightlord lasts 1.5x longer. So, for every onxy apple you burn (a very OP attack pot that gives +100 attack), you will basically deal damage while having this bonus 50% longer. So if you use 2 onxy apples, you will have the buff on for 30 minutes, whereas other classes will only have it up for 20 minutes. To properly support a nightlord, you will also need to make a bishop and bowmaster.
So hero isn’t need to be funded ? And BM(BowMaster) also? I really like being a warrior but DrK seems fun 10 times better than hero until 4th job
hero is easy to fund (if you ever want to), with hardly any washing required - you get 9k base hp without washing at 120 i have both a Drk and hero at 16x for both, and i can tell you, for the same amount of spending, especially for new players, heroes get more dps out, with an easier playstyle, which is great for relaxing boss runs Drk is more fun in its own way, because you have to engage with playing with your hp to keep berserk on, but having hyper body is not really a great plus, just that it helps some players occassionally the journey up to 4th job without leech, which i got to "enjoy" for both Drk and hero, i would say that training up my drk to 140 was much more enjoyable, and much easier as compared to getting my hero to 140 - the hero 3rd job and early 4th jobs are extremely sad, as the melee range and multi target capabilities are terrible you will really need brandish and advanced combo attack maxed to feel the power bowmasters can be played without washing, but you have to play properly, and maybe have hyper body at places like horntail they are quite easy to fund, and sharp eyes is a great contribution to dps to any team anyways my take on your choices of classes to play ease of play : hero is the easiest, bandit, corsair (if you plan to play battleship without optimizing), DrK, corsair (if playing battleship at 100% efficiency) cost of good gear : bandit is somewhat the cheapest, hero, corsair (higher dps than NLs even with cheap gear, but good guns are expensive), Drk best damage: corsair is legit stronger than NLs at bossing and anything really (just hard to play), bandit (god tier meso bomb), hero, bandit (average player), Drk
So from what you are saying Bandit is super strong and easy to fund Hero is super strong and easy to fund but until 4th it’s hella boring And Corsair is highest dps+easy to fund & also a bit difficult
for funding that is correct for general, non perfect equipment, so the cost of an average player if you would like to add the cost of HP washing, then the funding will have to change abit depending on the hp goals hp washing budget in general: Drk (187500 hp for 30k with hb) is the cheapest, hero (highest base hp in the game), bandit (meso guard halves damage taken), corsair (ultra expensive to wash) and for the dps and journey up, sounds just about right
For me Paladin's actually a good way to start this game, considering they got buffed, you have elements wish do more damage on bosses / mobs in general, high base HP as well and a good control when you training solo. You can more information here [A little hard to understand but not imposible) There's also a good way to start with Dark knight, since Hyper body make helpful for any non-washed party member and for yourself as well. High damage since berserk and nice base HP as well. You can check for more information about DK here Buccaneers are also a good way to start, but will be painful since you're no funded enough. Mid high base HP from lvl 30+, nice % damage on 4th skills, good movility in general and a unique skills that provived help at partys in case of cooldown for some skills. Did i mention once you hit lvl 200 on this class you have Echo of Hero every 30 minutes?. More about this class here Now if you wan't the awful way. you can waste your time making a bishop, try to get genesis (30 for skele) and sell leech and fund yourself in order to feel good, since HP washing nowdays are destroying the server on my opinion. As Relmy's say: This is basically the meta-game in the server atm. However that's my recomendation at the moment when you make a class or start fresh since there's toons of good stuffs dropping by mobs ( gloves 60% attack, shoes for dex/jump, overall dex, etc) so will be easy to fund your character if you choose this way. Welcome to Royals! hope you enjoy your story with us <3
Thanks, I have no idea what to actually pick. Maybe i will start a hero, idk. Hero or Bishop, Bishop just to get funded even tho its rough start
FP mage is ultra easy to fund for a start, but you will need to make youself a HS mule (level 81 priest with maxed HS) if you want to self leech or sell leech leeching money is more, but you will have to commit to the agreed leeching hours but if you have a irregular playing schedule, the archmage life is easier for farming, as you will deal a ton of damage for a dirt low price comparison of funding required: level 10 ult: bishop needs to do htpq (kill manons, get a couple of materials to gain access), FP mage needs to shove 1x eye of fire (get from the fm for cheap boi) level 20 ult: gene 20: ~700-800m, meteor 20: ~60m level 30 ult: gene 30: ~1.5b-1.7b, meteor 30: under 100m iirc magic attack requirements for archmages are amazingly low, cuz magic wand 5 multiplies fire damage, and elemental amplification on archmages (bishops don't get this) use this calc done by shiyui and martin here https://royals.ms/forum/threads/1-hit-magic-calculator.117916/
