^ Agree with point 1 and 2 to add its the guild that keeps me running and in any MMORPG its always the guild and friends that keeps you running. Also the game and the nostalgia #BelieveInRoyals2017
-The promised land of the new source which in my eyes looks like the very best server of maplestory that ever was made. (When its completed) (Soon TM) -HP Washing its a thing and it differenciates the good ones from the godly ones. -U have to use ur head to survive boses and not just afk spam skill button and gg. -CWKPQ HYPE SINCE THE DAY IT GOT ANNOUNCED.
I loved the competitive nature of this server, I came here wanting to become the strongest of whatever I chose to be & was making pretty big strides at doing that. Being the competitive person that I am, getting gains with no one to compete against is kinda counter intuitive so I don't really see a point in logging in anymore & have lost all motivation. I guess with that it's a vicious circle that I am a part of; I don't want to log on because there is hardly anyone on & there's hardly anyone on because I am one person to add to that.
Other than the leeching epidemic (which may or may not be due to tons of people HP washing) and people having 70 accounts to (not*) AFK farm heartstoppers and other items, this server is the closest to old school GMS. The rates are fair but still challenging, you can make good money from monster drops, getting end game gear isn't extremely easy and lots of people are down to boss all the time.
The beauty I see in MapleRoyals is its simplicity. No plot and the lack of guidance (compared to GMS) makes it feel so free and realistic. It really feels like you can do whatever you want. Everyone is so friendly by default because of that, and the fact that they're not as obsessed with money and EXP. All the community, economy, and guilds feel much more natural. MapleRoyals isn't spoiled by easy leveling and easily getting powerful equips, so if you're willing to put time into the game, everyone feels so accomplishing. It's all an authentic MMORPG virtual world experience, as much as DnD. The only flaw I can think of is that it's not immediately rewarding to those who don't/can't invest the time and effort, but that's more of a side effect. It makes the game better overall by having a community of people so engaged in the game.
Only thing with leeching is no one makes you do it, and I can see the appeal when you have 300+ INT on a rogue because you want to be able to survive Pink Bean if he ever gets released. lol. Personally, I like that it's before big bang. 5 main classes. The rates are fast enough that you dont feel like you're living through GMS again, but not so high that it's an afternoon worth of playing to hit 120+
Probably, since there were many instances they released unreleased contents in GMS. I vaguely remember them releasing Mechanic before GMS which caused quite a stir. A good rule of thumb is to usually fall back a few versions and not be on the same as official.
From what I read nexon found the location of some of their admins and sent a letter to them about hiring lawyers from their countries to sue them in their own country. They didn't want to take a risk and just closed the server.
Tbf, I originally also came from Extalia after they closed. Going from 163, to wat ever this one is now.
By Jan 2016 royals already have hundreds of if not a thousand players online What's the title of this post again?
I'm not surprised this happened. After all, you can never be too careful. I honestly doubt Extalia established a company like what Royals did to have limited liabity etc. One way or the other, there will be ways for Nexon's lawyers to find out personal details of the admins. Perhaps via the host server which holds one of the admin's billing address?
I can't lie I was thinking of leaving not that I'd be missed exactly but I started testing the other servers. It's not like they're catastrophic but royals just has my heart I guess.
