Mate... there is no right answer. There is no "this IS the class that is most fun". Read the title. Which class do YOU find most fun? You've made your answer. Stop judging our answers, and trying to convince us that there is a right answer. This is not a test. There is no letter grade. You are not any more right or wrong for liking what you like. This question is literally 100% subjective, friend.
We are each giving our own input on why we enjoy what we enjoy. The way I see how this thread works is for the OP to read through the diverse experiences of various people who enjoy different jobs and to see what fits him/her personally. Not for you to try and set in stone what should be enjoyable and what should not.
At the moment I'd have to say that I find F/P mages really fun to play even though they're such a rare class. Their 2nd job can be a hassle to get through since you have to depend on 1vs1 skills while the other mages get their mob attacks. But you get through it just to get the ultimate reward in my opinion at 3rd job. Suddenly F/P mages get a really good grinding skill in the form of Poison Mist. I really enjoy misting since you can grind at high level mobs with a little bit of practice (you have to learn a good rotation of your map). It does come at a price that you easily get killed during a massive lag spike due to the mobs you grind at still 2shot you with Magic Guard. Luckily a pet can help you out a bit on that front. In 4th job I love how the skills look. I like the look of Meteor, Paralyze and Elquines in particular. Besides my love for F/P mages I also started playing a DK. I'm currently in the early stages of 3rd job and I already enjoy it. I was sold after I put my first SP into Dragon Fury (Pole Arm) even though it wasn't better than my 1st job mobbing skill at that moment. I picked DK since I can boss with it while having good survivability with HB while also being able to grind with our mobbing skills. At the moment I'm really looking forward to get 4th job to learn how to zerk and to start joining bossruns. In the future I also might start a BM. I played a BM pre bb on EMS and I really enjoyed playing it back then. But I'll focus on my DK and F/P mage first!
Mr. @leoye123 , why must you spread fire on every thread you visit? We are just trying to share our opinions here and have a better understanding of what we like. There is no RIGHT ANSWER as Michael said. You can't force upon someone to find a class fun. You say NL is the most fun? Cool. Plenty also likes them? Cool. But there are OTHER PLAYERS who don't, hence why there are so many different opinions in the poll and here in the thread.
Keep in mind I'm not very high in level on any of my characters (yet) because I joined the server not too long ago, but with the classes I've played the NL path has been the most fun I've had so far. I really can't wait to reach the later job advancements to see what they have waiting. I've started a Mage not too long ago that I'm going to be doing the I/L path, which I've been having a lot of fun with so far as well. I really enjoy the ranged classes, however I'm probably going to avoid the Corsair path until I find a good place to get bullets.. I have trouble finding them on the FM and if they're as dependent on their damage as NL's then that'd be a bit of a problem when it comes to grinding and what not. However I guess I won't know until I try, which will hopefully be soon!
Pre-BB Bucc was the most fun I ever had playing Maple Story. I very much enjoy quite a few classes, but doing combos and never letting bosses touch you was incredibly enjoyable. Yeah, the DPS was terrible, but I didn't even care because of how interesting I found them. Sadly on live Global they have a more generic skill set, but got to keep the low DPS. I will say overall though, I prefer melee to ranged, and my 2nd and 3rd favorite classes would probably be Hero followed by Dark Knight.
Ever since I saw the maroon mop weapon in the FM, I just fell in love with the Beginner Class. (I also like Bishop, but due to my experience in them with GMS, it gets fun to a point then, it's just repetitive doing all the same skills over and over in the same maps over and over. That and as you level up, if you end up dying or whatever reason, then you just rage at it.) Bishop Rant aside, in overall, I like the beginner variants of it because of the challenge. With next to no skills to use, you're only stuck with your own hands to defeat enemies. And that could be said in life too. After all, we are all beginners and if we want to do something with our own hands, we usually take a "common" object and use it to protect ourselves. And there are so many perks when being beginner, aside from playing the game on the hardest mode possible, you get nifty perks such as never losing any exp on death so, even if I die carelessly, I won't rage because of lost exp. Or when using taxis, (from those in Victoria) you get a 90% discount travels. And you get to wear the Beginner exclusive weapons such as the Frozen Tuna (Lv 20, 80 wep atk) and Maroon Mop (lv 36, 220 wep atk on average). Which helps create some sort of goal to reach when you actually get those levels. And what I love about this server, is the fact that you can use a ride on a mount. Something that in no server, I've ever played ever allowed me to get a mount even if I had the money for it. When I reached lv 70, that really made me happy, I could ride a mount. Literally shed tears of joy. But this is not my first time, I've made beginners. Back in GMS, I've made countless Beginner like classes. Such as Citizens (Resistance), Legends (Aran) and a few other beginners all spread around the servers. They're all in between the levels of 70 and my highest so far (lv 123) and from which, I never leeched from others. (All I did was PQ, which is already borderline legit to level up.) And while many people encountered why I play Beginner, I simply say "Because to myself, Beginner is a fun class!" I never really liked making archers since you have to hit enemies from afar, and I'm more of a Warrior type person and with thieves, I only really got to 2nd job barely 3rd job with them. I just simply never found them fun, in the long run. For example, my first level 50 is an assassin, but I got bored of it really fast, heck, even now when I go on it, I have to force myself to play it other than it being a mule. Meanwhile, when I play Beginner, it feels like as if I've accomplished a real achievement in life. Since to me, it feels like it's the most immersive class, just trying to survive in a tough world where you're always judged by others because of the way I chose to play but despite that, I always try my best in order to become like one of the best. Tl;dr, I like beginners because it brings an even more challenge to the gameplay rather than just sticking with one class, makes the game much easier and expect others to like me just because I chose that certain class. Alot of people judge me, even some in my own guild, but despite that, I find it really fun to play it , and it really doesn't bore me, like with most people. And that's the end of my rant.
I like pallys and marksman because i think they have the best skill sound effects lol Blast, charged blow, piercing arrow, and snipe have really good sound effects imo
Im saving my votes for now because I only have 3 characters I've been seriously working on and one semi. I will return to vote later once I have more experience under my belt. On that note, I do want to share my experiences. Mages. I have always loved mages. I love the idea of mages and wielding magic, the whole magic of it I can't say yet, because it's not at that level, but I think my I/L might become my favorite (eventually) as of right now though, I do love my bishop too. I like calling down holy beams of light and obliterating the monsters all at once. However, mages are very grindy (which they should be! No complaints here ^^) so sometimes I get a bit tired of the grind haha. Which brings me onto my 2nd most played character. My hero. I actually made this character on a whim, not really taking it seriously. Someone suggested it while I was in the process of making a full int BM and I ended up focusing on this instead because doing damage was fun I like seeing my little globes of blue and pink, I like seeing my girl swing a sword her size around, and I like smacking BFs into the wall and being able to say **** off to any mobs that try to move me. (although sometimes I wonder about that 90% stance) And then, bossing ♡ I like bossing, especually zak/horntail because I get to spend it with a bunch of other people. Sometimes we are in call so it is 2x the fun. Or sometimes we duo/trio and get into silly situations like not being able to take off our zhelms. But I also get bored of smacking stuff with a big stick! So... 3rd so far is my BM! Shes currently very weak due to a lot of int, but I love the look of hurricane. The skill just looks so pretty! Plus I have SE so people still love me. It does make me sad that my dmg is so far behind my hero's, but I try and console myself with the fact that its got 20+ levels. Another thing I find challenging is the lack of stance. After being spoiled by huge aoe's where it doesnt matter if you get displaced, or by stance where you dont get displaced, it's a struggle to stay on top of platform in zak sometimes, but it's also refreshing. I'm sure once I can start resetting, I will really enjoy this character. And when I get tired of 1v1 dps... Back to mages haha! (To be completely honest, I probably just enjoy my chars because I deck them out in RP and they look so qt so I wanna keep playing them xD)
Buccaneers would be my favorite if Charge could stack with WATK potions. The fact that Barrage moves you foward kills it, too. So, I'd have to go with Night Lord. Jump 'n shoot too fun. lol
the part where he said BM's are SE slaves. Thats kind of true. People on this server do treat you like a mule. Its frustrating when people say R>SE instead of R>BM
Well that's probably because they wouldn't mind if it was a MM either. I don't think there is anything wrong with stating what you're looking for because I might feel bad (if I was a MM) because it would seem like MM's are nonexistent. R>warriors is okay. People also recruit HB or Ranged. I think it's fine considering that people are just being specific about what the party requires ^^
Contrary to some strong opinions on this thread, I enjoy playing my Bowmaster the most. Being a range class means you are a glass cannon. I've washed enough to sit comfortably at 6.9k hp, but being on the edge of death constantly at bosses keeps me on my toes. Furthermore, I provide a skill that allows me to support my party mates in one of the best ways possible, while putting out a fair amount of damage on my own. I think I'd be a bit bored with too much hp. On that note, I believe BM's to be one of the most "self efficient" bosses- unlike other classes who require SE, SI, etc., to output their maximum dps, all a BM really needs is an attack pot/MW to be at their fullest potential, both of which can be acquired solo via your own MW, Concentrate, or a given attack pot. I am actually being labeled more as a "support" class than an "attacker" at bosses, because it makes me strive to improve my gear to white the NL's I'm with. Finally, the skills are interesting to me. I maxed Inferno, which I still use all the time. Arrow Rain to get the zak summons off my dick. Dragons Breath to make mobs when I'm Skele'ing. There is a lot of utility in a bowmaster's skill set, people just choose to use 99% Hurricane. Like others have argued here already, fun is subjective, and this is a thread asking for people's opinions. This is mine, and for these reasons my favorite class is the Bowmaster. I alt with a Bucc to have something totally different to fall back upon, and they come in second for me. Similar gameplay to Shadowers, I enjoy the challenge of stringing together long attacks without getting hit.
