I tried the fix and VMware ended up crashing at Zakum. I tried powering up the VMware but it would bug out. I tried using a different Virtual machine but Maple would have a white screen despite editing the VMX.
I've got the same issue he does. In one VM I had that value listed under vmotion.checkpointSVGAPrimarySize , in which i changed it to another value (33554432) just in case and I still get white screens. On the other VM, this was not the case and still get white screen. Both are running windows 98 compat as well. They are both Windows XP VMs
This is me after the fact that the first method you listed did not work (for me) following it step by step - resulting in the same white screen. I changed my vmotion.checkpointSVGAPrimarySize = to 33554432 in hopes it would maybe make the difference. I got that value from an image you posted in your post which had that same value posted and it was the only diference we had in values from that snip at least. Nonetheless, back to default or changing still results in the same problem. The windows XP version I have installed in my VM wares is a 32 bit version, if that makes any difference. Also, I am native on Windows 10.
This occurs when i insert the two values which Andreas provided. Some help would be appreciated if anyone else experienced this type of issue
I tried but it always changed the code by itself , maybe it's because I'm using MAC? and I still get white screen
Like already mentioned in this thread, the information is old and outdated. We fixed the file issue that caused this so changing those values shouldn't help you with your problem.
