Why has every server suck

Well, I can only speak to my experience, but I don't DC randomly and I can stay logged on continuously if I afk. Closing 1 client when you have 2 open no longer causes a 30 second lag while the game freaks out.

But do tell, what am I "very wrong" about?

 

Theres been alot fixed. To say the server is ruined is quite ignorant. Sure some things I will always miss in oldsource, example would be FM warp button, but the game as a whole will be alot smoother, as it already is. Killing certain mobs/bosses has no delay of items being dropped now, which I personally love, waiting 5-10 seconds per drop was a bit tedious at times and slowed training/collecting etc items/quest items/equips. Most people are upset but we know things will be done soon. How soon? Could be another month but when the day comes, it will be a good day indeed.

 

Why not give it time and see all the good that will come from using a v83 source?

 

There is still plenty for players to do in game even without Free Market and Cash Shop functionalities.

Hell, thanks to the low player population, I can finally train in peace and boss in a long while.

If some individuals do not like the pace at which the updates are coming, they can always vote with their feet.

 

Goodness, I didn't know the sewers had access to Mapleroyals.

 

I agree. The server is totally trash right now, but no pain no gain right? Realize that they only have one developer. The staff members aren't going to devote their entire lives and resources into building and maintaining a perfect server - but they're doing the best that they can, and with the best intentions in mind, so that they and we can enjoy a nostalgic Maplestory server. They could pull the plug on the server anytime they want. I'm just grateful that the server still exists, and that the staff are still working things out at all.

 

So...question.
To those who say they're stuck in NLC, or stuck in x or y map... How are you stuck?
Because I've been able to get out of every single map without issue. I've been able to go and boss (with some issues such as d/cing, or a timer error which should be fixed by now), or train without issues, etc. I've gained over 30% on my NL at 195 since the server came up by bigfoot hunting, crow hunting, anego, etc..

Seriously. How are you stuck? Is there a way I can help? Have you tried to use a potion or something? That shouldn't even be an issue anymore though.

 

Hmph a 195 can do a lot of things on their own. But some of us still need a party to boss , zak, ect. If you wanna help , help by getting this server population up to where we can find parties. These FMs used to be filled with people at any time of the day. Now they're empty as if you're playing half of Mapledestiny

 

I've played MyMaple, LunarMaple, AuralMS, and more. All of them shut down or went to the ground. Royals was always up no matter what. Sad to say it's fallen like the rest of them huh

Yeah, that wasnt what I was asking. I was asking purely if you were stuck in a certain map, like physically stuck your character can't go through portals, to let me know because I haven't been experiencing issues
Sure a 195 can do a lot of things on their own. Doesn't mean I have been though. Also not all my characters are 195.

 

For me i cannot get out of nlc, not sure if its something i did or not but i simply cannot talk to any npc's. If i do they either just don't respond or my game freezes. I can't tp out either because my hyper rock locations got reset. I can move map to map, i just can't get out of the continent by means of the train in the subway.

This was me trying again for the 5th or 6th time this month last night barely 8hrs ago. Not sure if any1 else is having the same issue because so few people are around these days but if so please halp Would love to get back to leafre to train again

P.S. i've been living on mobile broadband this past month while moving and i think the download was paused a couple of times. I haven't been able to attempt a redownload on my desktop yet but i'll try on my laptop on monday when i get back to school. I don't think my circumstances should cause anything regarding to internet issues as i can move map to map, i can attack and my 4g is fast enough to view 4k video streams but there's just not that much of it.

I'm fine with leaving the issue as it is and having you guys focus on bigger things while I chillax on gms for the meanwhile when u get everything sorted out. Will still be voting and keeping an eye on forums diligently.

I've got an idea, what level is your character and what's the ign? There was an issue with the NPC to Kerning/to NLC at the ticket gate not accepting basic passes instead of regular passes.. Not sure if that's the problem. But I'd be willing to try and help you figure it out.

 

Do you know the actual reason why popular servers shut down in the first place? Let me give you a hint: $$$$.

 

It will just take time for the update to be completely finished.
Just have to bear with it until then

 

I know ppl say "just give it some time". But for me 2 months should be time enough to fix it or have the decency to realize this is not working. After 17 updates (atm), it is still "broke", and the main bugs are not fixed. Even if the server was fixed right now, I doubt it very much that we would see the number of players online that we used to. After a long time ppl just quitted maple or moved to another server and has evolved enough to not come back. The staff should gather and analyse the real possibility of making New Source real or come back to the old and good mapleroyals.

 

Yes people can say that the new source was a "failure" in that it's taking so much time to fix, BUT you should also give some respect to the people who are running and trying to fix the server. It is admirable that they spend so much time and work into this when I doubt they receive much return from it. I bet most people would have quit trying a long time ago if they were in their shoes.

Thank you admins especially the developers for your hard work and time being put into this.

 

Well first of all I never said a thing about having a problem with being stuck now did I ? My thread is pointing out your failing server NOT BEING STUCK.
