Yes, I am indeed lacking the MP Potion that my pet is supposed to use, but that's not the issue here; the issue is that these messages are being generated nonstop and completely flooding the chatbox. Someone sent a smega and it went flying up the screen at lightning speed. What the heck.

Just remove the potion that you've run out of from your auto-pot slot and it'll stop trying to use the potion that you've run out of but still have placed in your auto-pot slot.

I know how to fix the bug, but that doesn't mean that the bug doesn't exist, alright?

Why is it a bug? You’re below the MP threshold and it’s trying to use the pot repeatedly, but can’t find any. Seems like a normal (but yes spammy) feature to me

If a nonstop flood of identical messages sounds normal to you, we're going to have to agree to disagree on what the word "normal" means.

If something causes the game to behave in a janky, unintended way, and if there is no argument that it shouldn't be fixed immediately, then it is a bug. Anyone who thinks that this is an intended feature is insane. At any rate, whether this is technically a "bug" or not changes nothing, and I'll leave it to the judgment of the developers reading this thread. I know it's just a stupid little bug report but I will die on this hill.

By all means please link us to the definition of normal you are using. The fact that this has been a feature even on the main game to this day indicates normalcy. What would be abnormal is if this *didn’t* happen.

The thing is, if you dont move(and dont get hit, or have an skill working that uses mp) that anouncement stop. Code works like this:
U run out of pots-pet let u know-u try to use mp-pet let u know, every single time that u try to use mp...i know its annoying, but it worksblike that till today in gms....again, if u adress it in another way, most of us gonna agree in having a way to turn that shit off, but, its not a bug

Maybe you are misunderstanding the nature of what it is that I'm reporting. I am not actively trying to use a skill. I am hanging on a rope, not doing anything, and the messages are still being generated.

You did something to cause your MP to get below the threshold you set your auto potion at, though. Your pet didn’t just start trying to use MP potions without your MP dropping. Your pet is actively trying to automatically use a potion due to your MP being below the threshold you set it at. This is how it has always been on every version of MapleStory, both new and old. It is a *normal* feature of the game. An annoying feature? Could definitely be argued. This belongs in the suggestions sub. rather than bug reports. I think a lot of us would see eye-to-eye with you if you simply said that “this is an annoying feature and it would be a QoL improvement if changed” rather than trying to argue that it’s abnormal, a bug, or some misunderstood issue on our behalf. Your frustrations/annoyance of the feature are valid, but your approach is completely off base and subsequently isn’t garnering any support (as you can see based on all of the responses).

I've said all that I wanted to say. The game was behaving in a certain way, and it looked like a bug. Anyone who saw the gif I posted can agree that it looks abnormal. I never played v200+. I just saw something that looked like a bug and I reported it.

You don't need to have played v200 to have experienced it; this feature has been around from the beginning versions that we played back in the day (like, in v62 and such). It just seems like you did not know that it was not a bug, which is fine, but upon being told of your mistake, you doubled down and went on to wrongfully argue that it is a bug and it is not normal. It looks abnormal to you because you did not experience it before, but your personal experience is not a reflection of normalcy, as this is an entirely normal feature that has never not occurred, and if those spam notices did not occur that is what would be abnormal by definition.

I should apologize; the reason I did that is because I thought people were misinterpreting the issue (namely, that the message was being sent every time I tried to use a skill, instead of being sent on every single active frame of gameplay, as was actually the case).

I'll request for this thread to be moved to the Feedback section.
