i think a simple DPS chart during bosses like World of warcraft is good enough

A dps meter would be super cool. Custom cpq3 for levels 120-200 would be cool.

When I played GMS three years ago, a few times a day there was a world wide guild event in that a lightbulb appeared over your head and you headed into a map with like 19 other people, some in your guild if you're lucky, most not, and you had to pass a sort of jump-quest PVP style race, going through the map three times with power ups to help you get ahead, put others behind, or control cannons to ruin others and hopefully get your guild ahead. Something like that would be nice, and it was automatic too, like an event, so no admin moderation needed. Your rank in the 20 person race gives you a certain number of points, and your guild's total points were put onto a leader board.

It gave out guild points based on your guild rank that allowed for guild skills, so either we can implement the guild contribution system into Royals that rewards contribution with special UNTRADABLE chairs/items/scrolls/"skills" (like there was a x1.2 exp skill for example) or we can not have a guild contribution system, but instead just have the leaderboard from the jump quest give out rewards directly. Rewards don't even need to be chairs/items/scrolls/skills, maybe even a small EXP bonus based on level (a level 120 gets like 10%, a level 150 gets like 5%, a level 190 gets like 1%, etc.)

Just spitballing ideas. These might be terrible ideas or hell to code/implement but I still think a competitive guild thing would be cool.

    Here's the guild jump quest.

Sure there's a competitive element in this server but... I personally am not interested in pvp at all. And don't even get me started in the massive balancing issues pvp came with on the live servers.
Maybe pick up smash bros or something, maple(royals) isn't the place for pvp.

Maplestory wasn't designed for a pure PvP. Especially when its a numbers game, it will just be a d*ck size competition, no skill or clever combat. Old maple was designed to hurt dumb mob AI and stationary bosses. There are not a lot of positioning options, directed aim or whatever. It will just be "hold your dps skill, one of us will die first" sort of deal.
Btw, balancing and coding it will be a nightmare.
I'm SUPER against this, and i cant agree with it especially when the title is so self proclaimed like its the will of the entire community.
There are many mmos out there that offer you this kind of gameplay, old maple just, can't.
As for cpq3 and guild stuff. That sounds like developing new content. Even if i don't subscribe to that mindset, people are bound to be against it because of it being not nostalgic. And it would take far more time than any other project they already have in mind. I personally don't see something like that coming to royals before they run out of stuff to add to the server
