Sorry for somewhat necroposting but there's a couple things I wanted to say/add to the admins since they are the ones with the recruitment power. To my knowledge there has only been one occasion when members of staff have been removed/fired for inactivity, and that was due to Mike and Dimitri really pushing for it back in the day. I think its honestly crazy that turnover of staff is so so low when the vast majority of staff is inactive. I haven't really played in the last two years and the staff list looks remarkably similar to before. I will say there's a deeper lying issue of why GMs tend to go inactive so quickly (which I can expand on if needed) but if that's not going to get solved, please as least try to hire/fire some staff. It really hurts the server to only have one or two active in-game moderators.
I'd definitely like to hear your thoughts on this, and agree that more active staff would help. Those that are active are great and the server wouldn't be what it is right now without them.
Y’all talking about new gm apps when there’s so many applications just hanging around in there... If none of them are good enough why aren’t they closed or denied? Go through them all and actually decide on potential interns instead of just ‘ignoring’ almost 90% of the apps. Since I started royals you barely closed 5 applications, and not a single intern was added. Also, why is it open for the public’s eye to see? More people would apply if it was private, and on your side you could deny applications more comfortably because only the applicant would see it. Also be more specific as of what you’re actually looking for & explain in detail what the job requires, so that people know what they’re actually sign up for. And if you actually need new interns why not do a promotion for applications in the game? Anyways, Good luck x
Im sure all of those players apps from 2015 are definitely still active and playing @danman The only time ive seen apps closed are either when the player asks for it to be closed, a player becomes outspoken within the community IE @auntjaemima or the App is a meme IE @BangHero

sounds like what u really need is a GM bot. Here's an idea. Instead of Forum Mod, redefine the GM route to have two tracks. One track is focused on community outreach, specializing in building positive playerbase relations. I can think of certain GMs who'd be better at this. They can also moderate the forums but not so authoritatively. Second track can be focused on protecting the server by enforcing rules and proactively trying to prevent RWT/bots. Maybe they can also help program anti-hack measures. Seems this kinda already exist throughout the history of GMs but maybe give them official roles. Would be cool lol.
