Hello everyone! It has been a while since we did the last census in 2017, since then our community has experienced numerous changes and upheavals. Many have completed their journey here and left their legacy in this server, and many others have also come and joined to be part of this dynamic commune, hoping to forge a new one. Moving forward, there have been numerous changes done to help improve the balance between classes and the quality of life for this server. I wanted to see how has the numbers shifted since 2017. I will collate and post the findings at a later date. There are are also a few open-ended questions at the end, you can use this opportunity to air your grievances, your hopes, your beliefs or even pass down a compliment towards the staff/server. I hope the results gathered will be representative of the player base, validate or correct any assumptions we have about the server and guide any future changes and suggestions that we would wish to see happen. No personal identifying information is required and the survey is completely anonymous. No questions are required, if you feel it doesn't apply to you, you can choose to skip it. Please answer as accurately and as truthfully as possible so that we can have an accurate set of data. Please only complete the survey fully once! Thank you for taking your time for reading this, I hope you could spare some time and help me to participate in MapleRoyals 2020 Census! <Link to the survey> If you are a player in the following region/countries. Latin America (Brazil, Venezuela, Peru and Chile) East Asia (Japan and Korea) Southeast Asia (Vietnam and Thailand) Nordic (Sweden and Finland) Middle East (Israel) Please help me promote them in your respective region/groups. Thank you! The MapleRoyals 2020 Census is officially closed! Link to the result! Special thanks to @Stan as most of this census was heavily based on his work. Any questions or changes I should make? Leave a message down below!
Would love to know the representation of languages spoken! Also specific countries of residence if people are comfortable sharing.
I could add a language option! I need to type all 190 + countries!? Matt has released the breakdown of the visitors for this forum a couple of months back! I did consider breaking down Asia in several regions, would that do?
@ilyssia you missed out Lushan for "Which is your favourite new location? (Pick as many as you like!)"
Hello guys ! I'd love to see the feedback from everyone ! I personally have lived with this server almost since the very beginning and a lot have changed since . I have great hopes for the future of our server ! I trust our staff to perform their best as always to give us the nostalgic experience we love so much ! I'm looking forward to the next step ! Cheers <3 Bry
Ah nice, it's crossed my mind a few times since I ran it a few years ago. I have a lot of regrets about the analysis of the data last time (I've also gained alot of skills in that regard since) and I'm sure you'll do a better job. Good luck with the census, I'm looking forward to the results alot!
Pardon if I didn't fully look through forums for the analysis on the census that you conducted. But was it ever posted? If so where? I'm curious to know what the results were back in the early years of Royals. Cheers! :3
If someone plays a job/class, lets say a gunslinger or spearman, but you only ask for 4th jobs, should they choose the respective 4th job then? What are players supposed to answer in that case? Edit: Feedback: Mapleroyals and this community are awesome! yay
Can you add to the census the question: "what is the highest lvl you have ever reached in mapleroyals" or sometjing along these lines? It would be interesting to see the spread of levels that take part in the census
Intuitively, they would still pick the closest respective class. If they play a Hunter they would lean picking Bowmaster as their choice. Furthermore that specific question is optional, in the event they also playing more special ''classes'' such as Str mages or level 100 archers. For now, I have yet to see this as a serious problem, so far only 1 participant has chosen to skip this question entirely. Lastly, I did consider expanding the current choices to include the lower advancement classes, but this also means expanding it from a manageable sum of 14 choices to a massive number of 43 choices. Due to the limitation of Google Forms, this cannot be done in a clean and neat way. Lastly, handling such a large sum will make it more difficult for me to collate and present at a later date. For now, I have added a short message at the back of that specific question, to notify participants to pick the choice that matches the closest to their answer. I hope that is enough to address your concern. Done!
