Website Update the Royals Library, but have the players help!

While talking in Discord today with ddawg and ilyssia, a thought occurred to me. The MapleRoyals Library has not been updated in quite some time. I understand other projects have taken priority over the Library and I am fine with that.

So, this idea came to me today: The Monster Book in-game is 100% accurate for all drops by every monster in-game (at least, I believe it is). So, what if a few players who have collected many of the monster sets in-game and have received the Amazing Collector/Master Collector/ Legendary Collector Medals volunteered to upload screenshots of the drops of the monsters in-game to help update the Library?

I realize this would require the upload of hundreds of screenshots. Of course, there might be a better way of going about getting all the information other than uploading hundreds of screenshots. I am not tech savvy when it comes to creating web page databases, so I don't know how much work this would actually entail. But I thought it would be great to suggest it.

I would happily volunteer to help out with this database creation. I have at least 390 unique card sets between all my characters.

Would love some opinions on this, particularly from the Staff, if this would be a possibility.

 

This would be an example of what I mean by uploading screenshots of each monster's drop. This is for the Green Snail. To incorporate this information into the Royals Library; I don't know how to go about doing that.

However, I realized while getting these screenshots that showing the type of scrolls each monster drops will take multiple screenshots since the cursor needs to be over the scroll to see what type of scroll it is. While the Green Snail only has two scrolls, some bosses drop dozens of different scrolls and would require dozens of screenshots. Maybe to counter this, video uploads would be better with the cursor going over each scroll in the video for monsters who have a lot of different scroll drops.

Or, maybe build the Library in sections. Only recording the Equipment each monster drops could be a first step, and deal with the scroll drops once the equipment drops are finished.

Unfortunately only the Admins and Devs have access to the Library stuff because it deals with Source Code stuff.
I have no power there! Thank you for thinking of me though! <3

 

So, if only the Admins and Developers have access to the Library, would that mean us trying to help with screenshots or videos of what monsters drop based on our Monster Books would pretty much be irrelevant? Since the Dvevs and Admins have all that information anyway?

If so, that's a bummer. A few of us would love to help build the Library, but it looks like we can't help. That's so unfortunate

The Staff cannot talk about or give out information on anything that is or isn’t being actively worked on. The only time this is done is through Official Announcements, such as from Patch Notes and the GM Blog. With that being said, we have discussed interest in this topic.
