Title pretty much says it all. In my opinion, having the paladin skill: Heaven's Hammer show the actual damage it does would be a nice update to the skill. In no way do I wish the actual amount of damage for this skill to be changed, this is mostly just a quality of life change that would be neat. The current animation for the skill shows a life bar being drained and isn't representative of what the skill actually does for bosses/mobs with greater than 200k hp. Showing a fake life bar draining to zero can be confusing when that's not what actually happens. The animation doesn't seem necessary. Simply showing damage numbers as a way to confirm that you hit something would be a more informative way for the skill to function. The groundwork for implementing this change is already there. When a boss's 1/1 attack hits you, the amount of health taken away by the attack is shown as a damage number. So, if it can be implemented for boss's 1/1 attacks, it shouldn't be too tricky to do for player's 1/1 attacks. Implementing this doesn't even mean you have to take away the life bar drain animation, this could also be supplementary to that. I just think this would be a neat idea, cause everybody loves big damage numbers. Also, for the opposite side of that, it would be hilarious to see high level paladins hitting 9s on snails. Overall, I just think it would be a neat addition.
Honestly, that skill would look pretty amazing or hella distruptive. Imagine you’re grinding in Neo Tokyo Skies 1 or basically HT when wyvern spawns. There are lots of targets and having a whole bunch of numbers every hammer. Just my opinion, but that doesn’t really suit how MapleRoyals should feel.
It has a max of 15 targets. Not sure it would be any more disruptive than skills that are already in the game. Like blizz, meteor, genesis, dragon roar. All of which show the damage they do.
Isn't gen be a lot more disruptive then? It got numbers too and it doesn't have any cooldown so you can just spam it. I think it's a good idea for hammer to have damage numbers
Well, just my opinion! But yeah, you guys indeed have a point. 199,999 on all will make it look kinda , OP.
Yeah, I see how that could look kinda silly. To be fair, I'm a bit of a nub so I've never actually run horntail, so I've never encountered that situation. I guess there's probably other locations where there'd be a whole lot of 199s too. I hadn't really thought of that being an issue. That's partially why I want this, though. I want it to feel more OP. It still does the same damage either way, but I feel like this would make the skill feel more chunky when it hits. I think it would give more of a sense that everything just got smacked with a giant holy hammer, vs everything just got its life magically sucked down to 1. just my opinion tho
Royals has had many issues with Heavens Hammer and Im pretty sure it can't show the numbers for some weird reason I can't remember why.
Wouldn’t it be kinda weird if you deal 199,999 DMG to a mob that example has 90,000 HP but doesn’t kill it but leave it at 1 HP too?
it wouldn't do 199,999 dmg tho. it would do 89,999 damage. leaving the mob at 1hp afaik, it only does 199,999 if the mobs max hp is more than 199,999
Yeah, it's always bothered me that it doesn't display its damage. Never understood why it was designed like that. That being said, does HH necessarily always do 1/1? Cuz it does technically have a damage% associated with it. So does your range actually play a factor in how much damage it's actually doing or is it special case?
No. There's a explanation of how heavens hammer was fixed somewhere in the forums. The animation and speed of it is all wonky and not exactly Gms like. It used to not work for a while and it took a while to fix it with a lot of modification. But it always does 1/1 up to 199 and the description doesn't match. The only thing that changes is the cd
