Hello, Long time lurker of the forums. Started MapleRoyals a while back but I've always played solo so I don't have friends/guildies to chat with about this kind of stuff. Reading the Patch Notes about Paladin and it looks like they've acquired some awesome new utility? I haven't played a Paladin but they seem really flavorful and fun. (I've always been a fan of the underdog classes) 1. Do you guys think Paladin will be sought after for bossing with these changes? 2. Will they still require mad amounts of funding to do decent damage? Hanging out in FM I've heard some chatter about Marksman being close to on par with BM for damage and bossing. Can anyone confirm? I've always been a fan of the MM class, I was going to make a Paladin first because they require less washing, but with the new HP quests, should I be able to make a marksman with +60 int gear/washing and boss with him? I've got a bishop for funding (still need to gear him a bit more - Lvl. 140) Thanks for reading! P.S. If any guilds are recruiting, I'd love to join!
Paladin's are still too weak to be picked over their brothers in most scenarios. Cancelling weapon cancel every 4 minutes is a nice touch, but it's not enough to make up for their weaknesses. They will require more funding in order to match other classes.
Back when I was playing actively, I really enjoyed going on melee-only boss runs and I was more than happy if I could manage to get a Paladin in my party. They were hard to find though. Those who are Paladins and say they are "unwanted" probably just need to find new groups of friends to party with.
Palandins are still a joke. As for MM, im a bit confused as the update says they only updated the text to be 4 secs snipe, not that it was 5 secs and buffed to 4. The 25% increase for strafe is not as big as it sounds once you know that this extra damage is added, not multiplied. So if there wasnt an actual buff to snipe, then mm is pretty much the same
The paladin class didn't really get a buff where it matters in terms of damage. The cool down to Heavens Hammer at MAX level is still the same as it was before the "buff", it just made lower levels of the skill better. The "total crash" wasn't really a buff either because people only care about the weapon cancel being taken off, which paladins could already so adding the skill "total crash" to be able to take off magic cancel doesn't do anything. what really needs to happen: 1. ACB needs a range buff 2. make 1 handed weapons the same range as 2 handed weapons when using blast/ACB, like they did for brandish a while back. 3. raise damage cap (might be hard to do and give an indirect buff to snipe) 4. fix the Guardian skill so it blocks silence and stuns again.
I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but in Oblivion maps I get more exp not using Heaven's Hammer. I'd rather get some kind of damage buff to Blast instead of ACB. It doesn't happen, but if there were 6 bosses stuck on top of each other I can at least feel good knowing Paladin's would out damage Brandish and Crusher cause you can 6 while they hit 3. Blast only hits 1 monster and I can't wrap my mind around why I need an element boost to out damage 3 hit Brandish on a single boss.
People would suggest an higher dmg% for acb to help with bossing mostly, but yes I get your point. As for HH, it depends of which map you grind at, if you're solo or in a duo and of course HH lvl. So it definitely can give less exp using it depending on the situation. We should meet in-game! @silentbeetle Sorry, out of context.
if It's damage buff people want for acb it would have to be a huge one. with its tiny slash blast range I end up hitting 1-3 arms at Zakum using a 6 mob skill vs my Hero who hits 2-3 with a 3 mob skill. I wouldn't mind though if Blast is neglected and ACB gets some kind of range and damage buff. ACB hitting 3-4 arms + Heaven's Hammer would feel like a pretty cool combo, then I could go back to sucking on the main body, but at least there would be total crash. I usually solo at Obl4 and I end up killing the monsters faster or get into a better position by the time the Hammer swing ends. I still like using it on bosses when I can't total crash their buff.
