MapleStory has many cool weapons and armour, and I think we should be able to convert them to NX status, so we can use them only for the appearance. This can be compared to Outfit systems in other MMOs. If we had this system, I think MapleRoyals would feel extra nostalgic, since players could walk around in class gear they like. This is what I do right now, even if the min-max side of me knows I would be better off with no LUK and a Zakum Helmet. [1] I think the best way to implement this would be as an NX item, similar to the Item Tag. The item would be in the USE and Etc section of the Cash Shop. After you use the NX converter, the weapon or armour piece will become Untradeable. To equip a cosmetic weapon or armour piece, you must fulfill the level and class requirement. Only NX weapons of the same type, for example a two-handed weapon, can be equipped. ⠀
"To equip a cosmetic weapon or armour piece, you must fulfill the item requirements." Would this be before or after current gear? Because if it refers to clean stats, you'd only be able to wear nx gear that your character could wear anyway, and that you aren't using because you've got stronger options. This wouldn't resolve the issue for lukless mages or low-dex sins for example. Not sure if that's your intention though.
The idea of a vanity item anvil was suggested many times, but i think a GM said once that it was impossible to do.
Other pre-bb servers have it. One is an RP feature where you simply go to an NPC and select the equip you want to convert. I’m sure if those lower tier servers can make it work there has to be a work around to get it on here too!
