Maybe can include the various rules and possible penalties in MapleTips as well (just an idea)

I don't think adding another way to inform players about rules will make them read the rules seriously, but I do agree we need more awareness on the rules and also the potential permanent bans

Kinda hard to raise awareness on this matter as Quest NPC as the rules have to be detailed to prevent players finding loopholes.
Do you have any example of the T&C questions that's not wall of text?

I mean, I personally really like the idea of bringing the message board back in the FM and broadcasting the number of people who got banned on that date.
Everyone is in the FM, it’s subtle enough and doesn’t give away igns, and it also shows that the gms do in fact, ban people on a regular basis.

I really think the reason why people do it is because they don’t think they’ll get caught. Most of them even think the gms don’t do their job (until they suddenly “can’t log in anymore.”)

I’m not implying I do any of those things, but I remember as a kid I’d do really dumb stuff and my thought process was “yeah there’s a chance I’ll get grounded, but I haven’t gotten caught yet huehuehue” maybe it’s the same thought process?

I’m sure if we had some sort of way of updating the number of bans per day on a platform that most people visit each day (FM), and maybe a weekly or monthly section too, then maybe those who commit those offences would be deterred away after seeing the large numbers.

I know for me personally if I see statistics showing any kind of information, especially if it’s doing illegal things, I most likely won’t even consider doing it. (I say “Most likely” because I consume the weed, before it was legal in Canada #DontArrestMe)

Example A: I found out my World of Warcraft account is worth over 5 grand a year or two ago.
I kinda wanted to sell it because I don’t think I’ll be playing it much anymore, until I looked into it and saw that yes, even on a big platform those gms still ban those accounts for selling.
(Someone accidentally got a super rare one of a kind not released mechostrider back in the day, (GM patched him through a mount without realizing the model was never released, after he got stuck on a quest) and he tried to sell his account— instantly banned and now no one can see the mount ~f4)

I figured over a decade of farming mounts, weapons, tmogs, achievements, etc wasn’t worth it to possibly get a good chunk of change, so now I’m stuck with my inactive WoW account.

The quest is meant to inform of the rule's existance, the detailed rules would still remain in the T&C, the thing you agreed to when you signed up.
So no, we don't need to write the nitty gritty details and cover any possible loophole in the description of the quest.

It's like I'll tell you "don't steal!". I won't go to the books of law in your country, copy the entire section about the defintion of "burglary" or "embezzlement" then paste it into chat so you'll know there's no loophole. I'm just informing you of the general idea of "not stealing". I don't need to go into details as you can do that on your own. I just want you to know that there are rules out there, and that you will get punished if you go over said rules. After that point, it's up to you to decide if you are still willing to break those rules. If that person came here, and wanted to honestly play like the rest of us, they wouldn't go over the rules that could forever ban them from the server.
I only want to prevent people from doing something without even knowing there was a rule to it in the first place.

How do we go with the definition of vote abuse in the description of quest then?

    Just "Don't vote abuse" ?

You, as a person, are not allowed to vote more than once per 24 hours.

See? Straight to the point, one sentence, its not that impossible. We just need to compact the T&C to fit a handful of text pages. At least the ones that are not very obvious to new players
