It basically allows you to shoot arrows without using them up But it's it much better to put the sp into a skill that actually matters i.e the 1st job skills that add accuracy/avoidabillity? You can just buy a ton of arrows and you'll never even need to use this skill. The only think I could come up with is that maybe if you have for example 1 arrow that adds +4 att, and you use the skill, you'll be able to use unlimited +4att arrows? Is that accurate? Cause otherwise, I'd say it's redundant. Also, is there an arrow that is stronger than +4att? Couldn't find any at bbb.hiddenstreet
If you use soul arrow you lose the 4wa bonus so it's up to the player to choose convenience or additional damage. Also, the range displayed does not change but the damage output is calculated assuming no wa bonus from arrows are applied. Lastly, the highest Wa arrow in this sever is 4wa.
It's still worth getting Soul Arrow. The biggest reason honestly is that there isn't a better skill to invest points into, and it's semi-useful. You should max Focus by the end of the 2nd job (instead of Final Attack), so that only leaves blessing of the amazon which only adds accuracy. However, you won't ever need additional accuracy because of bowman's high DEX stat. And Soul Arrow is just a nice convenience skill. Even if you want to buy arrows, it's nice to have just in case you run out of arrows out in the field or at a boss.
Honestly I don't think it's worth it to have just a 4 att bonus. maybe if you were in far end-game, but until then, soul arrow is arguably much more useful imo.
Lol nah going to buy lots of arrows every time and recharging is way too troublesome Also you need that inventory space for stuff like potions, scrolls, skill books etc Also while at 2nd job arrow consumption isn't much of a problem, at 4th job hurricane has a crazy fire rate (500 arrows per minute) and just for 1 ht run you'd need like 15-20 sets of arrows at least
wat what ht body parts? I don't understand I guess you're right about the high acc, but still an additional 13 acc can't hurt right? Or maybe I'm wrong and 13acc is not worth anything to a bowman? Yeah the hurricane is right. But let's say I can put just a few points to soul arrow and then put more into the 1st job skill that just adds acc, or is acc worthless to a bowman?
Archers have naturally high accuracy due to our primary stat is Dex. You can just use the spare skill points from 2nd job that supposed to add to Final Attack to add to Focus instead.
Acc is completely useless as an archer later on. Most end game bosses like HT, shaolin, krex etc can be 100% hit with less than 200 accuracy. Even the grandpa boss in showa (who has the highest accuracy requirements of all bosses) only need like 400 or 450 accuracy or so (and you need to be lvl 175+ to gain party exp from it) In comparison a level 175 archer would usually have like 600-700 accuracy and a level 200 can even get like 800 so getting more gives you nothing. It's better to max focus (which gives avoid) but you can max it anyway and even focus isn't that useful (20 avoid is decent but you have to cast it as a buff which wastes time, and when you use stoppers you get 60 avoid which is higher) As for the consequences for not maxing soul arrow, if you don't level it at all and get stuck with no arrows in a boss run you'd be in a serious trouble (not dealing any damage and stuff lol) and if you did level it but not max it will last shorter and you'd waste time recasting it more (which will make you lose a little bit of dps)
What you guys talking about running out of arrows, just buy a shitload(one page of arrows) and you will be fine. Thats what Pirates and NLs do anyway. Just run to Showa and buy it back, most cities have spinel. In NLC theres the bald boy. Also I'm mad because I didn't know the soul arrow downgraded damage(I saw that the range didn't go down on the screen, but that it does take count in calculations)
When I mained my BM using red arrows was a 2.6% increase in DPM. That's pretty huge if you ask me. Why I would always go buy arrows. They'd last me several days if I got an inventories worth. The hassle was worth it to me to do so. Gave me that little edge over other people in my direct competition. The one time I ran out I just used soul arrow and I only ever ran out once. Not to mention I just used 4th job points after like level 150 something to max that first job skill. After hurricane, sharp eyes, maple warrior and phoenix basically every other 4th job skill is garbage anyways.
This! Especially if someone bosses alot. Soul arrow is very useful imo also going to the place to buy the 4 wa arrows is really annoying (unless you farm the diamond arrows)
I think using actual arrows is what separates the hardcore player from the rest. Here is a little pro and con list off the top of my head Pro: 4 extra weapon attack Don't have to cast an extra buff In cases of dispel you continue to damage Con: You have to go buy arrows that can add up to several million mesos per trip Inventory space usage Something that hasn't been mentioned is the dispel aspect which in Horntail is huge when you are trying to protect a priest or a buyer from fresh spawned mobs. In a horntail on average I would use 16k arrows so 8 slots worth. That's nothing considering we have what 96 slots? It's not like I would be buying everyday and on top of that if I didn't want to use my arrows for what I was doing I would use soul arrows. I guess the question is more so are you at a point on your bowmaster where you aren't trying to be a casual player and more so an endgame bosser?
