Hello MapleRoyals. Staff and Maplers alike! I saw this forum was for Feedback, but I couldn't see a specific ruleset or guideline as to what that entails. So if my thread breaks any rules, I ask for forgiveness, and that you will just delete it and let bygones be bygones. I just want to leave a message of appreciation to you, my fellow Mapler and our staff. I loved this game as a teenager, and I've tried a few private servers since, and they were fun for a few minutes, or days. But I want to give you, as far as the game itself goes, props for how you've done it, and not only that, but stuck to your core values and ideas. I.e; not making it pay2win, not caving in to any potential demands to make it 10x EXP, or release OP jobs, what have you. There are so many servers out there, some even that about match your guys's numbers in terms of online users (on a good day for em and average day for you). But there aren't many old-school, 4(5?) classes servers that manage to pull not only the amount of players yours do, but the amount of committed players. Just as an example, and I stress, not to brag. I've been playing for 3.5 weeks (give or take), and I've donated at least 4 times and poured a lot of time and energy into the game. Simply because I enjoy it and if you love something, support it. Also, so far it has lived up to almost all of my nostalgic memories. Of course, due to age and first time experience, not everything is going to be the same.. But I feel that this game, for what it's worth and what it offers, does it so well that even the Maple-Drama, despite it being cringy, or sometimes bad, it hits a nostalgic note with me. In the old days when people argued whom were top, whom were the strongest, whom were legit, etc etc. Now, I haven't seen many hackers here, and those I have seen I've reported. Just using it as an oversimplified example, that, even the drama in this game among players hits a nostalgic note. It makes me feel that people are committed enough to take it seriously and make a deal out of certain things. And whilst you guys (staff) have some strict rules and are quick to enforce them, to me, and speaking only personally. It has been a piece of fresh air to see people rant, compete, or even low-key argue with one another without being punished unless it was rightfully deserved. So props to staff for lenience when it is appropriate. I also see people help each other, bond friendships and just in general, stick up for each other. And in that regards, I give props to you. My fellow Mapler/Royaller. We've(most of us) grown older, and more patient with our fellow peers. In other words, come good or bad, whilst this game isn't Perfect. In my honest and humble opinion, it's one (if not the best) pre-BB retro server out there. A buzzing community, drama, competition, friendships made and broken, goals reached, scrolls failed. Admins on the ready to help and give an understanding ear if needed, or put the hammer down if provoked. Maplers ready to add a Hp-washer or a Beginner nub to their party out of good will, or scold your butt if you say something stupid. All in all, it FEELS like how MapleStory used to feel like. I think it's a wonderful server, all in all. And perhaps it is legal reasons, surfing on the safe side, or even habit. But if I was to compare Royals to the real MS1 nowadays, then the other one would be the private server, and this is the place to be to make friends and have fun without having to fork out half your paycheck in the process in order to do anything. Keep up the good job! You're only human but I know you're doing your best, not only for your own interest but also the community. This goes for both the Staff and the Community. Sometimes we clash with each other, sometimes we argue, we ban appeal, or a mistaken auto-ban. But my point is, I feel that, in the Overall picture, most of the people involved in this game are doing their best, and being just a human in the process. And that's what makes this game so great. No shallowness, no pretending, be it good or bad. It's MapleStory in my eyes, and I am a proud member of this community and a glad supporter of this game. Keep up the good work, staff.
